In Cold War West Berlin in the early 1960s, it seemed that every third person you met was some sort of spy. These were the days before the Berlin Wall, when President Kennedy and Premier Khrushchev were going head to head over the spread of Communism in Europe. It was also the days before computers, data banks, cell phones and the other electronic marvels that helped replace human intuition with automated surrogates.

In this rarified atmosphere, the National Security Agency (NSA) desperately needed well trained, highly intelligent operatives to intercept and analyze the communications of the Soviet Union and East Berlin.

They tapped into a well-established resource, the Army Security Agency, or ASA, to train and supply Electronic and Communications (ELINT and COMINT) Intelligence Specialists to intercept and monitor the electronic and voice communications between the Soviet Union and East Germany.

About the Author

Mike Storie had been forced to drop out of college due to a neck injury and thus became eligible for the draft. After completing the Army aptitude and intelligence tests, they concluded that he would best serve the country as an ASA agent.

After the obligatory basic training, he was sent to Fort Devens for eight months of electronic intercept training. His class standing was high enough that he was allowed to select where he wanted to be assigned. He chose Germany and was sent to Frankfurt and then to Berlin.

Starting as a Private, he rose to the rank of a Specialist E-5, equivalent in those days to a Sergeant, and was put in charge of a group of men intercepting radio communications of Soviet agents.

One of his hobbies was photography and this book contains some 200 photographs taken by him with commentary (often humorous) about his involvement with the Army and the National Security Agency.

Reliable charging, surprisingly strong and securely holds my iPhone without needing any adhesive
Style: 15W Charger
The Qi2 15W Tesla MagSafe Charger is a great charging solution for my Model Y. I really appreciate the multiple mounting position options—it makes it easy to find the perfect setup. It also hides cords nicely, giving a clean, integrated look inside the car. The magnet is surprisingly strong and securely holds my iPhone without needing any adhesive, unlike other mounts I’ve tried. It delivers fast, reliable charging and works flawlessly with my MagSafe-compatible phone. Highly recommended for any Tesla owner looking for a clean and functional charging mount.

Cheap, easily breakable, and barley works
Style: 15W Charger, Style: 15W Charger
First off, it didn’t even come with the charging chord, so I had to order another separately after it came. The product broke the fourth time i used it, the whole thing came apart when i tried taking my phone off. When it was working, it charged maybe 1% every hour. Definitely not the best choice in the category, look at other options

Works great, but included cable is too short
Style: 15W Charger
The cable included is only about 3 feet long and has a USB-a plug. Teslas now have only USB-c outlets, so the cable is useless anyway. If the cable were 6’ long and type USB-c, it could be tucked under the molding and hidden. I had to get another cable to complete the installation. I like this mount/charger because it is nondestructive - it doesn’t use tape or glue to install. The magnet is strong and it charges my phone quickly.
