Classic Ceylong Orange Pekoe tea leaves are typically whole, long, wiry, with a slender appearance. The harvested leaves are from the topmost two leaves and a bud of the tea plant, known as Camellia sinensis. These young leaves are rich in flavor and nutrients, resulting in a vibrant and flavorful tea.

The blender and origin of the tea very much determine the flavour profile of orange pekoe tea, as a result there are many blends available. Orange pekoe often has a deep and intense flavour profile.

The tea is not orange in flavour. It is thought to be called Orange Pekoe because the Dutch royal family were  the house of Orange in the 1600's. This is when only the finest of the black teas available were available for the royal family.

Brewing Advice;

• Use 1 - 2 teaspoons of tea per person
• Steep for 3 - 5 minutes
• Water temperature 93 degrees C
• Store in a cool dry place, away from the light
