"A near-miraculous, brilliant debut."--George Saunders, Man Booker Prize-winning author of Lincoln in the Bardo "In one exquisitely crafted story after the next, Will Mackin maps the surreal psychological terrain of soldiers in a perpetual war."--Phil Klay, National Book Award-winning author of Redeployment WINNER OF THE PEN/ROBERT W. BINGHAM PRIZE FOR DEBUT SHORT STORY COLLECTIONThe eleven stories in Will Mackin's mesmerizing debut collection draw from his many deployments with a special operations task force in Iraq and Afghanistan. They began as notes he jotted on the inside of his forearm in grease pencil and, later, as bullet points on the torn-off flap of an MRE kit. Whenever possible he incorporated those notes into his journals. Years later, he used those journals to write this book. Together, the stories in Bring Out the Dog offer a remarkable portrait of the absurdity and poetry that define life in the most elite, clandestine circles of modern warfare. It is a world of intense bonds, ancient credos, and surprising compassion--of success, failure, and their elusive definitions. Moving between settings at home and abroad, in vivid language that reflects the wonder and discontent of war, Mackin draws the reader into a series of surreal, unsettling, and deeply human episodes: In "Crossing the River No Name," a close call suggests that miracles do exist, even if they are in brutally short supply; in "Great Circle Route Westward Through Perpetual Night," the death of the team's beloved dog plunges them into a different kind of grief; in "Kattekoppen," a man struggles to reconcile his commitments as a father and his commitments as a soldier; and in "Baker's Strong Point," a man whose job it is to pull things together struggles with a loss of control. Told without a trace of false bravado and with a keen, Barry Hannah-like sense of the absurd, Bring Out the Dog manages to capture the tragedy and heroism, the degradation and exultation, in the smallest details of war. Praise for Bring Out the Dog "Cuts through all the shiny and hyped-up rhetoric of wartime, and aggressively and masterfully draws a picture of the brutal, frightening, and even boring moments of deployment. . . . The Things They Carried, Redeployment, and now Bring Out the Dog: war stories for your bookshelf that will last a very long time, and serve as reminders of what America was, is, and can still become."--Chicago Review of Books

Handles Photo-Quality Prints, Versatile Connectivity
Color: Black, Style: ET-2800-B, Pattern Name: Printer, Color: Black, Style: ET-2800-B, Pattern Name: Printer
I've had this printer for a whole year now. I was on a severe budget, looking for a photo-quality printer that didn't require Wifi in this digital age- because I quite frankly can't afford my own Wifi connection. My rink-a-dink laptop had to be set up with the software at my library, and an extra cord purchased.
All that said, I mostly print from my phone, because the software app is a bit easier to ensure that I get the highest quality setting. Laptop loves to be a snot about it. The blutooth feature, or "wifi direct", has a way about it, and as soon as you figure out what it wants, it gives minimal problems.
It functions exactly as if a printer had wifi on it, believe it or not.
What sold me on this model was the ability to do all of that, and adjust for different situations, seeing as other brands DEMAND constant wifi connectivity (lookin' at BROTHER, maybe Canon, too), and the long lasting ink tanks- I've printed hundreds of pages, and being a gothic/horror artist, at least a good part of the time, black is the only color even half gone.
What horrified me the most about printer-shoping dropping a lot of money (hundred plus is a lot over here, man) and not getting the prints to look like my work. Well, fear not. The attached pictures are why I made this review, to hopefully ease the anxiety of others. I make digital paintings, and use high DPI for high quality, and also the cutest micro-stickers you've ever seen. Prints come out clear, even if they can sit in the tip of my finger.
Yes, there are probably better printers. Maybe they're faster, and have even better connectivity, and have more bells and whistles. I specifically did not want to pay for those things, so, I'm very happy there's options.
It's not perfect, no, because every now and then, I get what I call a "special edition", where my printer has decided to multi-color barf out the last third of the page. One time it randomly printed in black and white. Well, that's no big deal, my stuff tends to look great in monochrome. Every now and then I get a low quality print; things just look a bit fuzzy. I'm not happy about that, but, you clean the heads, and print something simple and toony, and it has never done it twice in a row. Alignment has been off only one time, and I put the printer away after every session.
It occurs to me that people pay good amounts of money for printers that do that sort of thing anyway, so... Printers gonna printer, no matter where you try to hide.
Overall, I'm happy and relieved. I hope it lasts me a good long time. (Streetratt on Kofi, by the way.🖤 )

Great functional printer
Color: Black, Style: ET-2800-B, Pattern Name: Printer
This is a great basic printer for my office. We have a higher model in our main floor office but it is older. The setup is fast and easy and it prints well. I set it up right from my phone. The picture quality is great and it prints quickly. It is so convenient and was the right price for what I need.

Cool Texture, Great Product, Notable Cons, Still Recommend
Model: Tab S11/S10 Lite/S10 FE/S9/S9 FE/S8/S7
AMAZING PRODUCT! I've never used a "paper-like" screen protector, but this one applied perfectly and was easy to use! (just follow the instructions!) no bubbles, just one single speck of dust (my own fault - sigh). It creates a very strong "matte" effect and feels cool to run your hand over (very paper-y)
CONS:
-The fit was SLIGHTLY big for my new S11 tablet, (each corner went RIGHT to the very corner of the tablet ALMOST going over the lip-this was just the corners of the protector and not the edges, which I found weird. IMO, its too close for my own comfort, but it still works none the less, and I've managed to use a case with it too with only minor corner lift).
-The texture of the screen protector definitely distorts the pixels slightly, its just something to get used to, and probably something you'd have to see yourself, for if it would bug you or not.
-It collects fingerprints like craaazy but they also wipe off craaazy easy too....sooo not fully an issue? just surprised me.
Overall, for the money, I still recommend getting this protector if you're at all interested in a "paper-like" finish!

Great quality and easy to apply
Model: iPad A16 11th/10th/Air 11
I love these screen protectors. They feel amazing and they sent an installation kit making the applying process so easy. There was also a squeegee included to make sure air bubbles wouldn’t
Be a problem. I’ve had zero problems with the protector reducing the touch sensitivity of the screen, the protectors fit well, seem durable, and are great quality. The price was also reasonable. I’ve never owned other paper-feel screen protectors so I’m not able to give a comparison, but for these being my first ones I am very pleased.
