2016 release. Finally, the long-awaited full-length from Papa Topo is here, after almost three years of record-label silence. This period has allowed Adrià Arbona to let the group's new line-up settle, solidify, and develop it's own sound. Júlia Fandos (vocals, and flute), Òscar Huerta (guitars and backing vocals) and Sònia Montoya (bass and backing vocals) join Adrià to form the current reality of one of the groups that stirred up the music scene the most, at the beginning of the decade. These past three years, Papa Topo has participated on compilations, they have played songs in live performances halfway around the globe, and most of all, they have very carefully and affectionately prepared their long-awaited debut album. And now there is a blizzard of unknowns. How have the past three years affected such a young and promising song-writer like Adrià? Has the group's sound changed, and if so, how much? In a way, we can say totally and not at all. After having shown us his versatility, moving from sixties sounds to saba-daba-da, from garage to punk, from disco to the sweetest pop, it isn't going to surprise us at all to hear classical pieces, or boleros, on an album that doesn't completely forget what came before. But it's all much more cohesive; you can tell that there is more than just a songwriter at work behind it, that there is a solid band. In any case, we are once again looking at a super fun release that will delight new listeners and the most demanding fans alike.

Great quality pillows. Very difficult wrapping.

The Pillows are the real deal. Very fluffy but with good support. I was surprised by the weight of the box they came in, pretty heavy so you know there’s good quality pillows inside.
The one negative is that the pillows are packed in very very tight plastic because they come compressed. But the thing is, it’s really a chore to open them. You have to be careful not to cut through the plastic to the material, but the plastic is put on so incredibly tight that it’s even hard to get your finger underneath.
But I found a way to open them. Near the top, insert A very flat metal ruler as far in as you could get it. Then cut through the plastic that’s above the metal ruler. That prevents a sharp tool from damaging the pillows. As you get through the plastic above the ruler, keep pushing the ruler further down into the package. Believe me, this simplifies what could be a very difficult unpacking. I am very surprised that the company that makes them does not insert the type of opener that you find on boxes you receive in the mail or even packages that you get from the grocery store where you just pull a tab and that opens the package.
These are really good pillows, but you must be very careful about using a sharp object when opening the box and when trying to cut through the plastic. I am a strong man and have the tools needed, a very flat metal ruler, and a box cutter, knife, or razor. Good luck. !!

Soft & Durable Mattress Protector

Nice protector cover, quiet and comfy - best for THICK mattresses

I liked this pad immediately as fabric cover has nice quilting (just slightly puffy), and touch feel and feels substantial enough to hold up over time. I’ve ordered a few different brands of these and they were crappy, insubstantial pads I did not think would hold up to more than a couple washings.
My biggest complaint and it’s due to my own lack of experience buying these in the new world of skillions of mattress thickness choices is that (A) the side panels / elastic pockets are HUGE and will never be secure on anything thinner than a 12” (or thicker!) mattress; and (B) I thought I was buying an ENCASEMENT cover pad which this is not. I’m blaming that on Amazon because I specifically input “encasement” in the search and their F’ing search algorithm does whatever the heck it wants and if you’re not paying nit-picky attention you get stuff you don’t want. (Or you waste time sorting out the ones you didn’t want to see in the first place!)
That said I am seriously considering keeping this (depending on late arrivals of competing covers) as I’m certain this will be comfortable and as quiet as these waterproof covers get. It’s a nice cover.
UPDATE: it’s a couple weeks later and I’m reporting I did keep it and am happy to have done so. It installed more securely than anticipated and is as comfortable as I thought it would be. I’ll try and update again when I have time to resize pics and show how much my cat enjoys it too:)
UPDATE#2: in review I noticed that the 1* reviews were on about nasty liquids leaking through - I haven’t had any large scale events to gauge but I can see how those reviews could be valid. I should report out of EVERY type of these “nice” noiseless “waterproof” pads I’ve got I think every one of them probably could have the same fault. In other words though I use and really like this cover I also purposely use an encasement style mattress protector (you know the put it in a bag w/zipper kind and a pain in the a** to do so kind) to avoid the complaints in the 1* camp. These mattresses are just too costly and spongelike to NOT protect them completely so I appreciate their frustration that things leaked for them. In my choice to keep this I did so because a) it most probably is pretty waterproof & is definitely quiet & comfy; b) it’s pretty easily washable; and c) because most of the encasement protectors are of more “crinkly” material than this (at least the ones I’ve seen so far - maybe the super expensive ones have figured out how to be perfectly waterproof without crinkle) and by using this nice top protector I put a layer on top of the crinklier encasement and everything just ends up much better with no noticeable crinkle. Figured I say this to help detail 1* vs. 5* because right!? how can one thing be so great and when you turn around then be so terrible… just sayin. (& I did not change my 5* rating😎)
