The levels for depth make edging around d flower beds or raised beds easy- not really a trench, but gives a good edge. Lightweight and easy to manage. Definitely lighter than my corded edger. The blade is sensitive and the guide to keep it steady along concrete is not great- just need to make sure you watch closely or it will spark when it hits the concrete.

Since I  don’t have a large lawn, I gave this guy a try. Turns out it does a pretty good job. Can’t beat the price and it’s simple to use. Be aware, this vendor sells the unit only. They have no spare parts and you will need to source replacement blades. ( they supply 1 spare). Otherwise, worth a try.
