Persia: Western MissionThe American Protestant Mission to the Assyrians (1835 1934) was transferred to the Presbyterian Church in 1870 and was renamed Mission to Persia to reflect its desire to reach all the inhabitants of Iran. The West Persia Mission included Urmia, Tabriz, Salamas and Mosul and was mainly directed towards Assyrians and Armenians. Rev. Samuel Graham Wilson (1858 1916) joined the mission in 1880 and worked on opening a boys school in Tabriz. He wrote
