Aqua Medic Turboflotor 5000 Shorty  Building on the success of the Turboflotor 5000 series, we have crafted these robust protein skimmers designed for installation in cabinets. The Turboflotor 5000 Shorty 2 and the Turboflotor 5000 Shorty Compact bridge the gap between the Turboflotor 1000 multi, suitable for aquariums up to 500 liters (150 gallons), and the Turboflotor 5000 baby, ideal for aquariums ranging from 1000 to 2000 liters (250 to 500 gallons). The Shorties come in two sizes to accommodate most aquarium cabinets. Like their larger counterparts, they include a venturi pump and our innovative needle wheel technology. To supply water to the skimmer, an additional pump with a minimum capacity of 2000 l/h (500 gph) is required. The skimmer can also be directly linked to the aquarium's overflow. In such cases, it is advisable to install a bypass to regulate the water flow to the skimmer, particularly when using powerful return pumps.
