The Liftking 8,000kg / 8 tonne endless round sling is a heavy-duty polyester lifting sling designed for large plant moves, structural steel lifting, machinery installation and demanding civil engineering applications. With an 8,000kg working load limit and 7:1 factor of safety, it is a strong option for heavy industrial lifting where a soft, flexible sling is preferred.

This 8 tonne round sling is manufactured from 100% polyester and colour coded blue for fast WLL identification on site. It is easier to handle than many chain slings of similar capacity and helps protect load surfaces from marking when used correctly. Each sling is manufactured to EN1492-2:2000, certified to TUV and GS standard, and supplied with a certificate of conformity.

Common Uses for an 8 Tonne Round Sling

This 8,000kg endless round sling is commonly used by lifting contractors, crane operators, engineering teams and site crews handling large fabricated assemblies, machinery, steelwork and plant equipment. It is well suited to heavy lifts where flexibility, load protection and ease of handling are important.

How to Measure an Endless Round Sling

Endless round slings are measured by their Effective Working Length, also known as EWL. This is the usable length of the sling when it is laid flat and measured from one end to the other, as shown in the diagram.

The full circumference of an endless round sling is approximately double the EWL. For example, a 2m EWL round sling has an approximate full circumference of 4m.

When choosing the correct length, consider the size and shape of the load, the lifting points, the hook size, the hitch type and the required lifting angle. The sling should sit correctly around the load without being twisted, bunched or forced over sharp edges.

Always select the correct EWL for the lifting method being used and refer to the sling label, lift plan and load chart before use.

Straight Lift

Suitable for vertical lifting up to the rated WLL shown on the sling label.

Basket Hitch

Can be used where the load is balanced, the lift is correctly planned and the sling angle is suitable.

Choke Hitch

Can reduce the effective working load limit. Always check the sling label, hitch factor and lifting plan before use.

LOLER Inspection and Safe Use

As a lifting accessory, this round sling should be thoroughly examined by a competent person every 6 months under LOLER, unless a written scheme of examination specifies otherwise. A pre-use inspection should also be completed before every lift.

Check the sling for cuts, abrasion, damaged stitching, chemical contamination, heat damage, illegible labels, exposed core fibres, pulled yarns, knots or signs of overload. Always protect the sling from sharp edges, abrasive surfaces and unsuitable lifting conditions.
