Sensations' Fix guitarist, keyboardist and occasional vocalist Franco Falsini cut his teeth with Italian groups in the '60s before assimilating the heady guitar virtuosity of English rock. In 1969, he moved to Virginia and built a recording studio in his girlfriend's basement, employing little more than his guitar, the newly available Minimoog synthesizer and a 4-track machine. These raw tracks, intended to be simple demos, formed the base of Fragments of Light, the debut album by Sensations' Fix. Originally released on Polydor in 1974, Fragments of Light does not bend to mid-'70s genre-classism. Fluid, meditative guitar leads and innovative use of synthesizers, combined with a noted lack of percussion (and vocals) on all but a few songs, have drawn comparisons to Kosmische legends Tangerine Dream and Popol Vuh. While other Sensations' Fix records may sound more cohesive and polished, Fragments of Light remains the most personal. The album is sadly not well known outside of Italy, but Superior Viaduct hopes to rectify that situation with this first-time vinyl reissue.

Invisible, Reliable, and Weirdly Satisfying

I’ve tried a ton of different pimple patches and some fall off in the middle of the night, some look like you’ve taped a sticker to your face, and some just straight-up don’t work. These? These are my go-to.
I wear them day and night, and I’ve literally forgotten I have one on because they’re that invisible. Even under makeup or in bright lighting, it’s hard to tell it’s there unless you’re seriously up close. They adhere well with no random peeling or slipping off and they stay put even through sleep or light face washing. That alone makes them worth it.
But beyond just staying on, they do the job. After a few hours (or overnight), you can actually see the patch pulling oil and gunk out of the spot. It’s gross in the best way. I’ve had whiteheads flatten out and redness reduce without me ever touching the pimple. No popping, no scarring.
If you’re the type who picks at your face out of habit that this helps break that cycle. Just slap one on and forget it. I’ve genuinely missed them before because they blend into my skin so well, even in the mirror.

Affordable

These patches are a good value for the price and work as expected. They stick pretty well and are relatively discreet on the skin. They don’t perform miracles overnight, but they do help keep the area clean and protected. I usually notice improvement after a couple of days. My only real complaint is that I wish the small size was just a bit larger. Overall, solid and affordable option.
