Large Georgian mahogany chest of drawers.The large, late 18th century Georgian mahogany chest of drawers, circa 1780 90s, and of good quality, with two over three cockbeaded drawers, oak and pine drawer linings, turned wooden knobs, boxwood stringing above the smaller drawers and above the apron, with well figured grain and rich patina throughout, supported by outswept bracket feet. This piece has a real country house look, with plenty of storage and sits really well in a room.
The chest is in very good country house condition with just the expected age-related marks, scuffs and scratches which have been left untouched save for a good wax polish.
There's the odd spot of replaced veneer around the edge of the top as expected for the age and a couple of small pieces of edging to one of the side aprons, but all well done and hardly noticeable unless you're really up close.
No signs of woodworm at all.
