On August 31, 2013, for the opening of Wade Guyton's exhibition at Kunsthalle Zürich, Blondes, James Campbell and I.U.D. each performed in front of one Guyton's expansive canvases. This 4 LP vinyl record acts as a catalog for the four gallery exhibition with a double gatefold that unfolds to present a model of the installation. Each record contains one performance from the night, and corresponds directly to the painting in front of which the performance took place. Filled with organic growth and decay, Blondes find ways of creating a sonic environment that feels removed from the artificial perfection of computers. In this performance they've reacted to the room of the Kunsthalle, reinterpreting the tracks from their celebrated album Swisher (2013), restraining the percussion to make room for washes of reverb and textured melody. James Campbell's performance explores the resonance of the space. Filtered amplifiers concentrate pools of room tones that pulse under minimal percussion. By processing his drums and sequenced oscillators through delay feedback he produces a skittering phase interference moiré. Sparse and entrancing, Campbell's drumming obliterates into powerful drone. I.U.D. are Lizzi Bougatsos and Sadie Laska, who drum up a fierce sound over lots of fractured noise, primal percussion and abstract vocals while Spencer Sweeney accompanies on guitar and drums. Their Kunsthalle performance was a welcome blast of pungent discord. Previous releases on Social Registry include the Dead Womb 7" (2007) and The Proper Sex (2009). I.U.D. has been described by Prefix Magazine as "a welcome blast of pungent discord driven by a lurid sexuality that feels both filthy and funny."

Inside winter fun ball launcher

Bought this for our three dogs to play with in the winter as Houston is typically cold and rainy and limits outside play, this will be our new winter indoor activity. We are still in the learning process of putting the ball back in the launcher, we have only played with it a handful of times at most and they retrieve the balls back to the launcher but haven’t consistently put it back IN the launcher when there is a human at the launcher to do it for them. As we play with it more I know they will catch the concept along with the balls. Love that the product has three launching distances, indoor I’m using the short distance. Having 6 balls is also great, right now they are launching and rolling under the Christmas tree and my newly tri-pod dog cannot go under to get them. The ball launcher is super easy to use, I didn’t even have to look at the instructions. The design is nice and it is built very well. This launcher was a bit pricier than others but it had the best reviews. I used Amazon coupons, rewards and a gift cards and got it for zero dollars. Overall, I’m very happy with this product and the dogs have allot of fun with it and get excited when I bring it out. I have not had any problems with this product, the only slight thing to mention is that once about every 10 or more balls the launcher throws the next ball up will just sit, a little nudge from me or a dog will get that ball launching again. I have nudgers so this isn’t going to be a thing. We love this product and give it 10 of 10 stars. Should something happen I would buy this launcher all over again. May even consider as a gift for a family member with 7 dogs.

Exceeded expectations!

This ball launcher has been the best thing we ever bought. We have a golden retriever who of course, like most goldens, is ball obsessed. I have thrown my fair share. I decided to see if my golden was smart enough to use this so we pulled the trigger. It took 3 days of on an off training and BAM! We are in business! This launcher has been a CHAMP! We've had it a month now and it has survived over and over of constant use. The balls are covered in pure slobber and nastiness but the machine keeps going. We do keep it plugged in and only use it indoors. Sometimes the ball does get stuck but it's easy to push it back through. The only complaint I have, and it's no fault to the company, but we are already on our 2nd pack of replacement balls. Honestly, it's been worth it. I probably should have purchased the bigger size but I didn't want to invest in it if he wouldn't use it. Definitely regretting it now!
