This classic collection contains myths, legends, and folklore of the principal Wabanaki, or northeastern Algonquin Indians, i.e. the Passamaquoddies and Penobscots of Maine and the Micmacs of New Brunswick. Most of this material was gathered directly from Indian narrators by Charles G. Leland (1824-1903), a brilliant and gifted Philadelphia-born journalist, essayist, and folklorist. In compiling the work, Leland noted interesting affinities between the myths of the Northeastern tribes and those of the Eskimos, and striking similarities between the myths of the Algonquins and the Eddas, sagas and popular tales of Scandinavia. For example, may of the stories in this book deal with Glooskap, a divinity with strong resemblances to such Norse gods as Thor and Odin. We learn how Glooskap made man from an ash tree, named the animals, gave gifts to men, went to England and France and made America known to the Europeans, and performed many other curious deeds. Here too are the merry tales of Lox, the Mischief-maker, who bears a strong resemblance to Loki of Scandinavian mythology. Also included are the amazing adventures of Master Rabbit, the Chenoo legends, stories of At-o-sis the serpent, the story of the Three Strong Men, the Weewillmekq', tales of magic, and more.
Myths and legends provide unique and authentic sources of knowledge about our deepest instincts and ways of interpreting the world and our place in it. This volume remains one of the most powerful and revealing studies of the Algonquin versions of such myths, a thorough, comprehensive collection that will prove invaluable to any student of American Indian culture or myth, folklore, and religion. General readers will also find these tales highly readable and delightfully entertaining.

Great price for a great shirt
Very nice men’s button down short sleeve shirt. Material is lightweight and breathable, easy to wash, and easy to iron. True to size. Well made. Goes with anything.

Nice, but nowhere near slim fit
This cotton linen short-sleeve shirt is a decent option for summer casual wear. The fabric blend of cotton and linen seems to be of good quality - breathable and lightweight for warmer weather. It has a nice soft feel without being see-through. The design is fairly standard with the short sleeves, button front, and chest pocket. The imitation rhino horn buttons are an interesting detail that adds a touch of style. However, I found the fit to be quite baggy and loose around the midsection despite being labeled as "slim fit." The shirt length was also a bit longer than I preferred. While the shirt is billed as versatile for different occasions like beach vacations or evenings out, I think they are better suited for very casual daily wear or running errands. The loose, untucked fit looks a bit sloppy for anything dressier in my opinion. On the upside, they are low maintenance in terms of washing and drying. The sizing chart was accurate enough as far as chest and shoulder measurements, but the roomy cut threw off the "slim fit" sizing for me. Overall, these aren't bad summer shirts if you prefer a looser, more relaxed fit. The material seems breathable and of decent quality for the price. But the baggy bottom half and lengthier shape weren't ideal for my taste. They get the job done for casual wear but don't quite live up to the "slim fit" promise in the product description.

Impossible to iron
I used spray, shower steam and nothing would even start to get the wrinkles out. Unless you are prepared to do some heavy ironing, don't bother with this shirt.

Linen-Cotton Casual Shirt
I live in the subtropics; breathable fabrics are important in your wardrobe. I realize synthetics have benefits, but for me natural fabrics are my preference. Linen and Cotton blend; yes please. I was looking for smart casual, something more than a t-shirt or golf-shirt but less than button-down. Something that would pair well with a nice pair of shorts and look good. And that it does.
Sizing is your question. I ordered a large because I often have difficulty fitting at the shoulder; the size chart indicates a medium would probably be better but I am OK with a little baggy casual too. In a brick-and-mortar store, I would normally try both sizes on and select the best fit. The arms and shoulder fit fine, the torso is a bit large. If I wear it to the beach unbuttoned, it looks great.
