The Star 45 is a beautiful RC sailboat and is very competitive, yet can still be made by someone who has at least a small amount of skill and a few tools. This version (1.4) has some added tips and tricks not included in the original version, as well as more information about the running rigging (including a running rigging plan which many have asked for).
NOTE: This is simply a manual for one possible way to build a Star 45. It is NOT a kit! You will need to source your own wood, epoxy, fiberglass, electronics, parts, spars, fittings, etc.
In the end, you will have a beautiful, wood sailboat with a watertight fiberglass on the outside. The Star 45 is one of the original Radio Control sailboat designs, and is still a favorite among those who prefer to build their own boats instead of buying a ready-made plastic version.
