About Infrared Therapy

Infrared is the non-visible wavelength of light therapy. The infrared therapeutic heat in the Man ‘o War provides a deep penetrating form of thermal energy.

This increase of thermal energy within the tissue results in an increase in the metabolic processes within the cells. This causes an increase in blood flow to the area, a decrease in pain, a decrease in stiffness, and an increase in tissue extensibility.

Infrared heat has an analgesic effect on the tissue and provides a sedative effect on the sensory nerve endings. This leads to a relaxation within the tissues, especially the muscle tissue.
