Argentinian musician Federico Durand returns with his 2nd full length album on 12k following 2016's A Través Del Espejo (12k1085). Taking his already minimalist composition style Federico challenged himself by using only one synthesizer for this beautiful album of sparse, hypnotic dustiness. His talent for creating works of so much emotion out of so little attest to his concentration when working and his passion for the craft. La Niña Junco is a handwoven gem. Music with a humble origin and a deep resonating soul. Famed Argentinian artist Lola Goldstein graciously illustrated the album cover, capturing the idea of memory and object that is so infused with Federico's work. Immersed in the beauty of the very moment, the songs for La Niña Junco were recorded in one take during two days, in a rush of inspiration. I used a small sound palette: one instrument, a Crumar Performer synthesizer along with two looping pedals and Roland Space Echo RE-201. The Crumar was my first synthesizer. I bought it many years ago and then gave it to a friend, who later lent it to my brother. After a very long time, I got it back when we moved to La Cumbre, a small town in the central mountain area of Argentina. As this instrument has a very limited but beautiful oscillator, it was rewarding to make small melodies using only it's almost magical sound. I was enchanted to have the chance to play with my Crumar again: in many ways this album feels like returning to an early home. Another Berkshire Favorite!
So soft and silky and warm and, oh the butterscotch color is such a perfect fall color! No static either! It does come rolled and sealed with plastic in a box, which I appreciate because you know you’re not getting something someone used and returned; all the Berkshire products I’ve bought come this way and while things being squished and sealed in plastic normally irritate me I approve of it here because Amazon is notorious for sending out used dirty crap and no one wants that in a blanket. Luckily with Berkshire I feel assured I’m always getting something new. Maybe that’s because the products are so high quality no one wants to return them (I know I don’t)! Or maybe they don’t allow returns, I don’t know. Sorry random tangent! But anyway, buy this for you, your friends, your pets, a stranger on the street! I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure the soft cozy feeling of this blanket could ensure world peace if everyone has one because everyone would be cozy and comfy and happy. Well maybe not everyone there’s always someone who has to complain. But not this girl. Because I’m cozy, comfy, and happy under my awesome blanket while I write this review!

Soft, Stylish Leopard Blanket That’s Lightweight, Cozy, and Big Enough to Share
I have been using this leopard print blanket on both the bed and the couch, and it hits a really nice balance between style, size, and comfort. I went with the larger twin style size instead of a small throw, and that was the right call; it is big enough to fully cover me when I am lying on the couch and works much better for two people sitting side by side than a standard throw that always feels a bit cramped. It also looks great draped across the end of a bed or over the back of a sofa, so it doubles as decor.
The leopard pattern is genuinely attractive in person. Up close you can see that it is a printed, short shag/flannel style rather than true faux fur, but the brown leopard version still reads more realistic and intentional than a lot of loud, pink “leopard” prints. The colors are vibrant and have a nice pop without being tacky, so it fits easily into different rooms and color schemes as a fun accent. From a distance, it gives a soft, faux fur vibe that looks more expensive than it is.
Comfort wise, it is very soft and pleasant to snuggle with. One side feels just slightly softer than the other, but both are smooth and cozy against the skin. It is a single layer blanket with rolled and stitched edges, so it is not a super thick winter comforter, but that actually makes it more versatile. It provides enough warmth to feel comforting without being overly hot, which makes it a nice year round piece: cozy in cooler weather with an extra layer, and just right on its own in milder seasons.
The blanket is also lightweight, which makes it easy to move around the house or pack for travel, while still feeling substantial enough that it does not come across as flimsy. It has held up well so far, and the overall quality feels good for the price, especially given the larger size. If you love animal prints and want something that works as both decor and a genuinely comfy blanket to curl up with, this one is easy to recommend.
