In this large square coffee table design, we placed a smooth slab of solid hardwood on top of textured blocks of blackened fir to create the perfect contrast. The surfaces of the blocks are charred in the style of ancient Japanese Shou Sugi Ban

In this large square coffee table design, we placed a smooth slab of solid hardwood on top of textured blocks of blackened fir to create the perfect contrast. The surfaces of the blocks are charred in the style of ancient Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique, producing their beautiful charcoal-black finish.
