Revised Edition, Print Format. This book is for enthusiasts and collectors of vintage and antique telephones manufactured by Stromberg-Carlson. It provides the reader with a history of the Stromberg-Carlson company, a list and description of the telephones they produced, and a section on maintenance and restoration of vintage telephones.

The book includes hundreds of photographs and illustrations, and describes the telephone instruments produced by Stromberg-Carlson throughout the life of the company, from 1894 to 1984. Prior to this book, information on Stromberg-Carlson telephones could only be found by viewing a variety of sources, namely, old Stromberg-Carlson catalogs, internet websites catering to telephone collectors, and random articles found by searching on the internet. The primary goal of this book is to provide a single source reference for Stromberg-Carlson telephones.

A short history of the telephone and the Stromberg-Carlson company is provided. Alfred Stromberg and Androv Carlson set out in 1894 to produce a better telephone. The company they formed produced hundreds of telephone models. Their telephones were initially designed to provide telephone service to farmers and rural subscribers, but eventually provided telephones to thousands of households and businesses served by the independent telephone market in the USA and throughout the world.

There is a section on telephone components and how they work. The telephone instruments produced by Stromberg-Carlson are described, and tables and illustrations are included for easy reference by the reader.

Finally, there is a section on telephone maintenance, repair, and restoration. This section describes mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair techniques that can be applied to the restoration of vintage telephones.

Information for this book was obtained from over 70 sources, which are included in the book Bibliography. Fifteen pages of the book are devoted to a list of Stromberg-Carlson telephones with a short description of each, and references where the information was found.

Color: Black
Nice looking watch! Good quality. Keeps good time. But… Can’t get the date to adjust. No instructions included in the package, just a sticker naming the buttons.

QC Failure
Color: Black
Retro light works aleatory: Sometimes it activates a couple of seconds when button depressed, sometimes deactivated as soon as you release it. A gross quality control failure in a brand-new watch, very disappointing.
