Christie's sale catalogue which was produced in 1980 for the disposal of the contents of Reddish House in Wiltshire, held over two days with 725 lots which included works of art, furniture, silver, pictures, porcelain and garden effects. The catalogue has 142 illustrations including 14 in colour.

After losing the tenancy of his beloved Ashcombe House, society photographer and artist Sir Cecil Beaton bought nearby Reddish House in 1947 and transformed the interior. Beaton added rooms on the eastern side, extended the parlour southwards, and introduced many new fittings. Greta Garbo was a visitor. The upper floor had been equipped for illegal cockfighting at the beginning of the 20th century; Beaton used the cages as wardrobes to store the costumes for his play "The Gainsborough Girls". The water garden he created in 1971 in the meadow at the front of the house, with meandering walks, is still in place. Beaton also added the indoor "Winter Garden" with a glass dome roof and a small pool in the marble floor. A historic research report by Adam Architecture is less complimentary about some other changes made during his tenure: "Beaton removed some important historic features within the house such as original partitioning and several fireplaces, and hid elements such as timber framing". He remained at the house until his death in 1980 and is buried in the churchyard.

Talk story about an auction of the late Sir Cecil Beaton's residence and everything in it, in Broad Chalke, Wiltshire, England. The auction was something of a social event. Marquees were set up and refreshments were available from Broad Chalke merchants. Knight Frank & Rutley, London-based real-estate agents handled the sale of Reddish House, which consists of nearly 6 acres, a 10-room house, studio, garages, and 2 thatched cottages. It fetched less than they hoped, 225,000 pounds in bidding that lasted under 2 minutes. The Earl of Chichester bought it for his mother. Christie's handled the sale of furnishings, which took two days and realized over 400,000 pounds. Quotes from the catalogue for the sale and tells what various items went for. A man who bought an urn containing a nest of blue tits made known his intention to leave the urn where it was until the birds had flown.

HOLY GRAIL for baby’s eczema!!!
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
The ONLY lotion that helps our baby’s eczema prone skin!!! It not only prevents flair ups, but it calms & soothes his skin when flair ups do happen. It’s not greasy, it rubs in pretty well with some effort, it’s thick & has no smell which is great for sensitive skin. Lotion is just expensive regardless of what kind you get, but we feel like this splurge is worth it for our guys skin.

Effective!
Size: 8 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This works wonders for our baby’s eczema! He had several rough patches on his arms, legs and cheeks and so far everything has cleared up except his arms, they will occasionally flare up but the cream helps soothe and reduce redness within a couple hours. It’s also a nice hand lotion for me, lol
