Most people believe that plant and animal domestication allowed humans, finally, to settle down and form agricultural villages, towns, and states, which made possible civilization, law, public order, and a presumably secure way of living. But archaeological and historical evidence challenges this narrative. The first agrarian states, says James C. Scott, were born of accumulations of domestications: first fire, then plants, livestock, subjects of the state, captives, and finally women in the patriarchal family--all of which can be viewed as a way of gaining control over reproduction. Scott explores why we avoided sedentism and plow agriculture, the advantages of mobile subsistence, the unforeseeable disease epidemics arising from crowding plants, animals, and grain, and why all early states are based on millets and cereal grains and unfree labor. The formula feels rich and nourishing but still absorbs nicely without feeling greasy. After applying it, my skin feels soft, smooth, and comfortable for hours. I also love that it contains ingredients like glycerin, Pro-vitamin B5, and niacinamide to help repair and protect dry skin.

Great Daily moisturizer

Very light and neutral smell ( although I can understand that the scent may not be to everyone’s liking). The new formula with niacinamide adds a great benefit for your skin. Leaves the skin moisturized. Compared to CeraVe and Cetaphil intense moisturizers, those are much more heavy and longer lasting but overall I really like this product and will continue to use it as part of my daily moisturizer. I do wish NIVEA was more environmentally conscious.

The best!!

Love this Nivea. And love that it’s in a tub and not a pump bottle so I can scoop out exactly how much I need and get every bit out at the end of every tub. I use this every day as soon as I get out of the shower. I lotion my entire body. It has made my skin baby soft smooth. It has also really helped with dry skin I had on my feet as well. Love it. I use my retinol and other skincare products on my face and neck and then I lotion my entire body right up to my chin. I don’t really use this on my face because I have other products for that but you could. It’s not greasy and absorbs well. Locks in moisture. And you get quite a bit for the money. I do wish Nivea’s skin firming lotion came in a tub like this too.
