Voodoo Science: The Road from Foolishness to FraudIn a time of dazzling scientific progress, how can we separate genuine breakthroughs from the noisy gaggle of false claims? In a time of dazzling scientific progress, how can we separate genuine breakthroughs from the noisy gaggle of false claims? From Deepak Chopra's "quantum alternative to growing old" to unwarranted hype surrounding the International Space Station, Robert Park leads us down the back alleys of fringe science, through the gleaming corridors of Washington power and even into our evolutionary past to search out the origins of voodoo science. Along the way, he offers simple and engaging science lessons, proving that you don't have to be a scientist to spot the fraudulent science that swirls around us.While remaining highly humorous, this hard-hitting account also tallies the cost: the billions spent on worthless therapies, the tax dollars squandered on government projects that are doomed to fail, the investors bilked by schemes that violate the most fundamental laws of nature. But the greatest cost is human: fear of imaginary dangers, reliance on magical cures, and above all, a mistaken view of how the world works.
To expose the forces that sustain voodoo science, Park examines the role of the media, the courts, bureaucrats and politicians, as well as the scientific community. Scientists argue that the cure is to raise general scientific literacy. But what exactly should a scientifically literate society know? Park argues that the public does not need a specific knowledge of science so much as a scientific world view--an understanding that we live in an orderly universe governed by natural laws that cannot be circumvented.

Wrong size on shirt’s tag and description!
Size: 16"-16.5" Neck 36"-37" Sleeve, Color: Dark Blue, Size: 16"-16.5" Neck 36"-37" Sleeve, Color: Dark Blue
We have ordered Van Heusen dress shirts in size 16.5 neck and 36”-37” sleeves for years. This shirt’s sleeves are 2-3” too short! The shirt is tagged wrong. I ordered the same size brand and shirt in a different color and you can see the difference in the sleeve’s length in the photo! Annoyed I need to return the defective item.

Good quality dress shirt
Size: 16"-16.5" Neck 34"-35" Sleeve, Color: Black
this is a wrinkle resistant regular fit shirt with a regular sized length in both arms and at waist. The style is dressy and it is of very good quality material. It is a regular cut and not slim. Very nice shirt I recommend

Works for me!
Size: 15"-15.5" Neck 34"-35" Sleeve, Color: Hazy Blue
I needed a couple shirts for wearing under a sport coat, these will do nicely. I got them in Blue and Grey. As with all dress shirts, I’ll have to wash them to get the wrinkles out, I hit them with my portable steamer as well. They aren’t think enough to hold a good ironing unless you use spray starch, but for $20 I’m fine with that. The tag on the shirts said $60, I would be pretty disappointed if I actually paid $60 for them; but for $20 the value is good.
I’m 5’8” and 180, so got the Medium 15/15 1/2 Regular fit, it’s a great fit for me. They came out of the wash fine, and are soft to the touch. I would expect them to wear as expected for a $20 shirt, and think the durability will be fine.
