The PUBLIC R18 Drop Bar was designed with the commuter, adventurer, and everyday cyclist in mind. With design inspired by the past for demands of the present, this 18-speed bike’s versatile geometry and lightweight Chromoly frame make it great for navigating the daily commute, putting in some extra fitness miles after work, or heading out of town for longer weekend adventures.
Up-to-date features like a 1 1/8" threadless stem and modern, dual control shifters allow many riding positions from semi-upright to aerodynamic and ensure easy-to-operate, light and responsive shifting. The PUBLIC R18 Drop Bar features an upgraded Shimano Sora 2x9 drivetrain that boasts the same reliable performance as far more expensive road bikes and is ready to ease you up the steepest hills.
Unlike traditional road bikes, the PUBLIC R18 Drop Bar was designed for urban utility with features like alloy fenders to keep you dry in inclement conditions, front and rear rack mounts, and secondary inline brake levers that offer convenient braking in city traffic from the most upright position. Rims capable of 35c clearance (w/o fenders) smooth rough city streets with nimble handling, and quick-release wheels make it especially easy to carry on a roof rack for rides out of town.
