Troy Lee Designs - D4 Composite Royalty MIPS Helmet (MTB)

D4 Composite Royalty MIPS Helmet is a Troy Lee Designs mountain bike helmet built for gravity riders. The D4 platform is known for downhill-focused coverage and a locked-in feel when the terrain gets steep and fast. The composite build gives it a balanced mix of feel, durability, and value for regular riding. The Royalty treatment gives this helmet a more individual feel than a plain solid option. The MIPS-equipped build adds another layer of confidence for riders who prioritize modern helmet technology.

That combination of coverage and ventilation makes it a natural match for riders who move between trail networks, rocky descents, and bike-park days through the season.

Why We Like It: it fits the way a modern MTB helmet should: secure, ventilated, and ready for real terrain.

Why It’ll Work for You: It is easy to match to the rest of your kit and easy to live with between rides, which is exactly what most riders want from an MTB helmet.

Variants / Options: multiple sizes and colorways available; check the selector for current stock.

Key Features:
  • Always Evolving. Built with an aerospace shell design and materials, we were able to get the D4 Composite helmet to 1050 grams without sacrificing any strength. Mips® C2 protection system is used to add an additional layer of safety in the event of a fall. For comfort, the D4 Composite routes cooling air through a front air intake system that flows through the polymer center and power grid side mesh keeping your head cooler during the ride. X-static® and XT2® anti-microbial/anti-odor padding keep the inside of the helmet a much nicer place to be.
  • Mips® C2 Rotational Impact Brain Protection System
  • 20 high-flow intake and exhaust ports for maximum ventilation
  • Added EPS and new headform shape for improved impact performance
  • Full incremental sizing for greater range of fitment
  • Strategically placed interior chinbar shock pads for comfort and durability
  • Quick-release and contoured 3D cheek pads for emergency helmet removal
  • Purpose-built internal cavities for audio integration
  • Stainless steel chinstrap D-rings are light and strong
  • Includes TLD drawstring helmet sock
  • Exceeds bicycle certifications: CPSC 1203, CE EN 1078:2002+A1:2012 ASTM F1952-15, ASTM F2032-15, ASTM F2040-11

Works great under makeup
Excellent for the face! Many sunscreens claim they are good for the face, and blend well. This one actually DOES!! It is also an excellent moisturizer under your makeup without streaking. Just a smooth, beautiful finish. I wear it all year around The sun is just as strong and quite capable of ruining your skin in the winter as well.

Not amazing, but not the worst.
I hate sunscreen and to varying degrees chemical or mineral sunscreens. This was promised as grease free and smooth, but it comes out watery and does feel greasy, but once applied on the skin it does feel smooth. UPDATE: I got a suntan after slathering this on my face. I would say this lasts about an hour and a half. The suntan happened 15 minutes before the two hour "clock" was up. Disappointing. Back to mineral sunscreen.

Best mineral sunscreen
Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Best sunblock. No white cast if you use the 30 spf. My dermatologist recommended this years ago and I’ve used it since.

No white residue
Size: 3.4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I put this sunscreen on immediately after it was delivered. It smells so good & goes on smoothly without any white residue. It seems to protect the skin, but then again I put some on every hour on the hour and didn't have any issues. I will be reordering. I wish this was on subscribe and save, but will continue to purchase.
