The Far Field"The Far Field is remarkable, a novel at once politically timely and morally timeless. Madhuri Vijay traces the fault lines of history, love, and obligation running through a fractured family and country. Few novels generate enough power to transform their characters, fewer still their readers. The Far Field does both."--Anthony Marra, author of The Tzar of Love and Techno Gorgeously tactile and sweeping in historical and socio-political scope, Pushcart Prize-winner Madhuri Vijay's The Far Field follows a complicated flaneuse across the Indian subcontinent as she reckons with her past, her desires, and the tumultuous present. In the wake of her mother's death, Shalini, a privileged and restless young woman from Bangalore, sets out for a remote Himalayan village in the troubled northern region of Kashmir. Certain that the loss of her mother is somehow connected to the decade-old disappearance of Bashir Ahmed, a charming Kashmiri salesman who frequented her childhood home, she is determined to confront him. But upon her arrival, Shalini is brought face to face with Kashmir's politics, as well as the tangled history of the local family that takes her in. And when life in the village turns volatile and old hatreds threaten to erupt into violence, Shalini finds herself forced to make a series of choices that could hold dangerous repercussions for the very people she has come to love. With rare acumen and evocative prose, in The Far Field Madhuri Vijay masterfully examines Indian politics, class prejudice, and sexuality through the lens of an outsider, offering a profound meditation on grief, guilt, and the limits of compassion.Binding Type: Paperback

Easy to use
I recently got one of those large body pillows that people usually use for pregnancy. Unfortunately, it was a little understuffed for my liking, and it isn't stuffed/stitched in a way that keeps the filling from moving around. The filling was bunching in places and sparse in others, causing it to be uneven. Fortunately, the pillow had a cover, and the core had a zipper where I could easily access the stuffing.
I decided to try this filling to make up for the gaps. It worked great. I grabbed the stuffing and put it directly into the pillow. I did not allow it to expand fully before stuffing. I probably should have. But this was super easy to use and absolutely solved my problem.
It doesn't smell great. There is definitely some smell that could probably be cleared by leaving it to air out for a while. I stuffed it right into the pillow and didn't use it until later that night. It wasn't so strong that it could be smelled through the pillow covering and the pillowcase.

A little goes a long way
I used this to fill a decorative pillow cover, and it worked out wonderful. The foam makes it so comfortable to lay your head on or just lean against. So much more comfortable than the poly fill. Also, a little goes a long way. Great value for this product.

Chemical smell
It fulfilled my purpose but it smells really bad. Very chemical smell, hoping it airs out after a couple days. I used it to refill a pillow and didn’t notice until I had already finished.
