Hinson – FSC Clutch Plate & Spring Kit (Yamaha)

The Hinson FSC Clutch Plate & Spring Kit brings the same race-proven performance trusted by Yamaha factory teams to your own garage. Used by elite riders like Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb, and Chase Sexton, this kit is precision-built to deliver smooth, consistent clutch engagement and long-lasting reliability. Each component is engineered to handle the intense heat and power of Yamaha’s high-revving engines — whether you’re racing, trail riding, or training.

The clutch springs are made from high-temperature steel to maintain pressure and durability even under heavy load, while the organic fiber plates are designed to protect your engine’s internal parts as they wear. With exceptional flatness and manufacturing tolerances, every plate fits perfectly for consistent power transfer and predictable lever feel. Developed to pair with Hinson’s full clutch systems — baskets, inner hubs, and pressure plates — this kit performs flawlessly with both OEM and Hinson components.

Why We Like It:
Hinson has been the go-to clutch brand for Yamaha’s top-level racers for a reason — consistency and feel. The FSC kit gives that same precision to everyday riders, offering smoother take-up, better heat control, and less clutch fade in demanding conditions.

Why It’ll Work for You:
If your Yamaha’s clutch is slipping or fading, this kit restores crisp engagement and dependable performance. The high-temp springs resist fatigue from heat, while the fiber plates provide strong hook-up without damaging your engine’s oil system. It’s built to handle the rigors of motocross, off-road, or weekend riding, giving you the same level of reliability and control trusted by professional race teams.

Key Features:
• Provides optimum hook-up with minimal heat buildup
• High-temperature steel springs maintain tension under extreme heat
• Organic, non-abrasive fiber plates protect engine components
• Manufactured to OEM specs for perfect fit and consistent feel
• Exceptional production tolerances and plate flatness
• Works with OEM clutch baskets, hubs, and pressure plates (model dependent)
• Designed to enhance performance with Hinson baskets, hubs, and pressure plates
• Championship-proven performance used by Yamaha factory race teams

Excellent 11 hole jig
Size: 11 Holes
This jig worked excellently. It doesn't have any instructions, so I watched the video of it. I set it up the way the video showed, and I got decent results. Deducted a star since no instructions.

Good jig
Size: 11 Holes
The jig itself is great. The markings make it easy to be consistent; the design is well thought-out; and the build quality is good. I would recommend replacing the drill bit, though. A nice brad point will serve you better.

In the trash after a single use
Size: 11 Holes
For context, I’m a seasoned woodworker and always evaluate tools with the price in mind. This seemed like a good deal and in fact when it arrived, it looked and felt like reasonable quality for the price. Unhappily, the first bookshelf I drilled was off from side to side by almost 3 mm which would make a really wobbly shelf situation. It took a while to figure out what was happening, but I finally realized the metal bushings that guide the drill bit are so soft that they cored out from contact with the bit even though I was cautious to not put the bit in under power but to get it in the bushing and aligned before drilling. Still, the bushings started angling immediately. So when you then use those angled bushings to set the pin for the next series, it’s off by a little bit. Then the next is off by a little more…. By the time I drilled holes up and down a 6’ high shelf, the bushings were out of square, the holes were 3 mm out of alignment, and the shelf sides were firewood. Back to the drawing board and this goes in the trash, I’m afraid.
