The Keesling Cemetery, located in Fall Creek Township, Henry County, Indiana, is the family cemetery of Jacob Kisling and his wife Catharine Sheffer. The Keesling Cemetery was started in 1845 with the death of their son, William Jasper Kisling, 22 years old. Oral tradition tells us that William was killed by a fall from a horse on 13 Apr 1845. He was returning from a trip to Mechanicsburg to his parentÕs log cabin. When the horse returned home without him, his father tracked the path of the horse and found his son on the trail, dead from a broken neck. For the next 100 years five generations of the family of Jake and Caty were buried in the Keesling Cemetery. Including the many in-laws buried there, everyone is related to Jake and Caty with the exception of 9 souls, 4 in the Corbin family and 5 Indians. There are 5 soldiers buried in the cemetery including 3 Union soldiers, 1 Confederate soldier (Corbin), and 1 World War I. The religious affiliation is primary German Baptist and secondarily Methodist.
