Definitive Hospital Productions artist Jim Mroz, aka Lussuria, follows duties on Prurient's Rainbow Mirror LP (HOS 597LP, 2018) and an appearance on Vatican Shadow's Berghain 09 mix/compilation (OSTGUT 119LP) with a new opus worthy of comparison to his dank ambient classics, American Babylon (2012) and Industriale Illuminato (HOS 420CD, 2014). In the foreboding Three Knocks, Lussuria limns an unconscious, near-death experience based on a tale told by his mother, who was admitted to ER after an allergic reaction escalated into something inexplicable. She was put in a medically-induced coma and administered a breathing tube. When under the effect of heavy sedatives, she spoke of a visit by angels who warned of an impending disaster. She eventually came around, and recounted that her illness was preceded by three knocks at her office door, slow and heavy - proposing that each knock was a mockery of the Holy Trinity; one knock for each crucifixion - but when she answered nobody was there. This omen, and it's confirmatory hallucination form the basis of Lussuria's utterly absorbing new album. Using a Hawaiian flute made from a human femur, and an iron lung for percussion (don't ask how he accessed it), together with operatic tape cut-ups and field recording made on the shores of Long Island's empty asylums, Lussuria stages his mother's vision in four parts of lugubrious, black metal ambient gloom. The atmosphere is just frighteningly tangible, revealing a sense of depth perception and stone cold clamminess that brings it's spirit vividly within touching distance, from the over-the-shoulder vocals and cracked window pane howl of "Fentanyl Chaser", to the hollow clank of oil drums and spent ammo casings in "Three Knocks", and through to the frankly terrifying descent thru choral loops into a bony flute solo with "Confused And Ill By Shadows". This would all just be another urban myth were it not for the exquisite detail and dramaturgy of Lussuria's production and arrangement, which typically imparts it's feeling in no uncertain terms, most acutely hyperstizing (making a superstition real) a state of psychological dread and panic induced by the occult imagination. RIYL: Cold Meat Industry, It, Prurient, Deathprod. Mixed and mastered by Josh Eustis. Vinyl cut at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin. First copies on silver vinyl.

My favorite!
Best face sunscreen I've ever tried and I've tried a ton. I have very sensitive skin and I've left this sunscreen on overnight and it has not caused any issues no breakouts. I wish it had no fragrance but it doesn't smell the worst and my skin doesn't seem to mind. My husband refuses to wear traditional sunscreen but he loves this one because of how light it feels on your face.

Lightweight, fast application
My go-to face sunscreen now. My favorite for rushed mornings when I don’t have much time. Tried a bunch of options including dove men care, Tula, juice beauty, cerave, laroche posay, and lumin. This and Jaxon Lane Rain or Shine are my favorites. Neither makes your skin feel dry or coated in stuff. This one smells like cinnamon to me. Slight eye burn as the alcohol evaporates, but doesn’t get into my eyes or burn during the day. Pretty good discount on Amazon sometimes!

Lightweight but questionable coverage
I traditionally used the Coola face lotion but had switched to the spray for my body so I figured I’d try the face spray. It doesn’t smell as bad as a lot of the reviews say it does. It also doesn’t really smell “tropical” for that matter, but it isn’t unpleasant. It sprays evenly and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. My only complaint is I still got a little burnt. Full disclosure: I’m super fair and have to reapply every 30-60 minutes, even without getting wet. So maybe it’s not meant for people with as pale a complexion as me. Or I have to constantly reapply, or put the lotion underneath. But otherwise I really liked it and really like Coola products.

Must have for a hot summer!
My mom saw my aunt using it and was impressed, so she bought it for herself and my sister-in-law. They both love how gentle it feels on the skin and that it’s organic and effective.

Too smelly
I love the idea of a clear spray sunscreen but my daughter says it stings her eyes and the smell gives me an instant headache. I really wanna like this but it’s a no go for me
