Late 19th/early 20th century painted pine chest or blanket box.Charming pine blanket box, with folk art painted finish that has taken on a nice crazing patination, original hinges and lock (no key). Very versatile blanket box, coffee table, shoe store, toy box, seat or pop your TV on it. Condition: Very good, the expected knocks and dings due to age. Some of the paint on the top of the box has peeled away see photos. I've given the whole of the outside a light french polish and wax just to protect the paint for

Some of the paint on the top of the box has peeled away - see photos.
I've given the whole of the outside a light french polish and wax just to protect the paint for the future.
Very clean inside as I think it must have had a lining until recently.
The back is also very clean, almost bleach/limewashed look, so presumably has been against a wall or window for years.
A small section of wood on the inside bottom has broken off at some point in its life - see photo.
