But in Aurora Floyd, and in many of the novels written in imitation of it, bigamy is little more than a euphemism, a device to enable the heroine, and vicariously the reader, to enjoy the forbidden sweets of adultery without adulterous intentions. Passionate, sometimes violent, Aurora does succeed in enjoying them, her desires scarcely chastened by her disastrous first marriage. She represents a challenge to the mid-Victorian sexual code, and particularly to the feminine ideal of simpering, angelic young ladyhood.
P. D. Edward's introduction evaluates the novel's leading place among bigamy-novels' and Braddon's treatment of the power struggle between the sexes, as well as considering the similarities between the author and her heroine.

Horrible sizing & inconsistent fit
Size: 27W x 30L, Color: Ecru Booper No Damage
This pant does not fit the same as other colors from the same line/fit. I ordered this color and a light wash 501 90s Jean from Amazon after trying them on at Aritzia and both fit nothing like in store. This color has more fabric in the pocket area, making it wrinkly and unappealing when worn.
I am usually. 25” waist (size 2-4 depending on brand), and I had to order a 27” for this to fit around my waist, so size up. I don’t think Levi’s work for curvy girls. I am 125lbs, 5’3”, and an hourglass shape. Levi’s don’t fit comfortably on my hourglass figure, which is unfortunate that such a famous brand still hasn’t perfected a fit for curvy people.
The color, thickness, quality, and length were good though, but ultimately returning as it simply doesn’t look good on.

New mom jeans
Perfect Jean for my new postpartum bod! Was sad that none of my old jeans fit. I Was mourning them really-then I decided to just bite the bullet and buy some new jeans in my new size and these are them! They are relaxed enough for me to bend at the knees and not feel like I’m cutting off blood, but fitted enough that I don’t look like a slouch. I could technically have gone a size down and would have liked them but I appreciate some give in this phase of life. For reference I am 5’6 and 129 lbs and I got a 27

So cute and well-made
Great pants made very well, I was hoping they’d be a little longer when I folded them back down at the ankle. But a little too short for me I’m 5’7” which is perfect for us spring and summer, but not going into winter where I live. If you were 5’6” they might be perfect for wearing rolled up or down. It’s a good quality material. They feel very durable in the style is right on!
