Six Questions Your Let's YO! Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

Franchise Unit Questions

We built this franchise unit financial model using our own research into self-serve dessert concepts. Key assumptions, including the $9,500 monthly rent and $505,000 in total equipment and build-out costs, are pre-populated and fully editable. You can perform a detailed frozen yogurt shop profit margin analysis by tracking how revenue scales from $648,000 to $1,007,000 while managing a 10-person crew and 8% total franchise fees.

When will this unit see profit?

This unit sees an initial EBITDA of $25,000 in year one, but faces a dip to -$17,000 in year two as crew costs and assistant manager salaries scale. Profitability is defintely a long-term play here, with EBITDA recovering to $15,000 in year three and reaching $105,000 by year five. This franchise unit profitability depends on scaling catering events and maintaining tight control over the 11.5% ingredient COGS.

Boost Unit Margins

  • Optimize yogurt ingredient COGS
  • Scale catering to $95k+
  • Manage crew FTE growth
  • Increase beverage attachment rates

What is the total startup cost?

To launch this unit in the US, you need approximately $505,000 in initial capital plus a significant cash buffer. This includes a $45,000 franchise fee, $220,000 for leasehold improvements, and $95,000 for specialized yogurt machines. Knowing how to calculate startup costs for a frozen yogurt franchise is critical because your startup capital requirements must also cover the $478,000 minimum cash needed to survive the ramp-up period.

Primary Capital Uses

  • Leasehold improvements: $220,000
  • Yogurt machines: $95,000
  • Initial franchise fee: $45,000
  • Topping bar equipment: $45,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What are the investor returns?

The model shows an IRR of -2.71% and a negative ROE of -0.48% over the first five years, with a payback period extending beyond the five-year mark. While the year-five EBITDA of $105,000 is healthy, the high initial build-out costs and year-two dip slow the ROI analysis significantly. Success requires aggressive local marketing to beat the $1M revenue forecast and shorten the payback timeline.

Key Return Metrics

  • IRR: -2.71%
  • Payback period: 5+ years
  • Year 5 EBITDA: $105,000
  • Year 5 Revenue: $1,007,000
[dynamic_pic11]

Where is the break-even mark?

The unit reaches its monthly break-even point in April 2026, just four months after launching. This quick operational break-even is a result of the self-serve model, but the operational expense forecast shows that staying profitable requires high volume to cover the $13,300 in monthly fixed costs (rent, utilities, and insurance). Labor is your biggest lever, as a 10-person crew can quickly erode margins if throughput stays low.

Speed Up Break-Even

  • Maximize high-margin toppings
  • Control monthly utility spend
  • Launch catering by month 4
[dynamic_pic12]

How much cash buffer is needed?

The lowest cash point hits $478,000 in January 2030, meaning you need substantial liquidity to handle the multi-year ramp. Since year two shows an EBITDA loss, your cash flow management must be airtight to avoid running out of runway before the unit matures. We recommend a 20% additional cash buffer beyond the initial build-out to handle slower-than-expected winter months.

Protect Your Cash

  • Phase furniture CAPEX
  • Negotiate rent abatement
  • Tighten inventory on cups
[dynamic_pic13]

How do scenarios impact results?

The difference between a $648k year-one and the $1M year-five target depends on local marketing execution and throughput. Using the franchise unit performance evaluation spreadsheet, you can see that a 10% drop in traffic would likely push the -2.71% IRR further into the red. Conversely, hitting the high-growth scenario through catering and social media loyalty could potentially bring payback within the 5-year window.

Drive High-Case Outcomes

  • Execute Social Media Hour
  • Partner with local gyms
  • Maintain tech infrastructure

Use this financial model for self-serve yogurt store planning to verify if the $505,000 in hard costs fits your budget. Preparing a financial forecast for a new franchise location is the only way to see if the $105,000 year-five EBITDA justifies the risk. Finance: update unit break-even and payback model by Friday.

Amazing suit for the price
Size: Large, Color: Black
So I didn't really need a suit for anything. But I've been wanting one just in case. As such, I wasn't willing to spend a lot. Yet I still wanted to look good when I wore it. This suit is amazing. I honestly would fit between a medium and a large, and with my current trend down in weight, I may buy an additional in medium(I mean, for under $100, why not?). While my shoulders have always been a little wide for what fits my waist, the large seems to accommodate even more than I need. I worry if the medium will be too tight, but that's for another day. The pants are a little long, to be expected considering I generally wear 30' pants. Easy to hem. The vest seemed a little loose, until I found the adjustment in the back. Now it is perfect. I may still need to go to a tailor for a more custom fit, but for the price it can't be beat. And I of course haven't tied a tie since I was 16, so time to relearn that. As far as quality goes, the fabric and stitching all appear to be excellent. I went with the black, as I don't particularly look great in gray, and navy out here seems more suited for church than anything else. The quality of black is excellent. The quality of the pants is good, but I will still be favoring my dress pants that already fit well. I especially love the angle of the beast cut(whatever it is called). Whether I choose the vest or not, the black contrast with all of my dress shirts is fantastic. I will include photos sometime when I'm not too self-conscious about taking selfies.

Really amazing suit that looks like a million bucks!
Size: Large, Color: Black
This is the second suit we bought by Lupurty. The first was dark navy and fit so well and looked so good that we got one in black for our son’s wedding!

Disgusted!
Size: Small, Color: Black
I’m disgusted! I ordered this for my boyfriend to wear to prom. I ordered him a small and the jacket and the vest were not smalls, they look like they were a large. All three pieces had dog or cat hair on them and the jacket had dirt stains on the inside. They were all used! And some of the stitching was coming out! I’m so glad I received it the same day I bought it, because if received it closer to prom I would have been so screwed!!! Do not buy this or buy from this brand! Terrible product!!

Dress to Impress: Sharp, Tailored Fit, Quality Material, and Sizing Tips
Size: X-Small, Color: Navy Blue, Size: X-Small, Color: Navy Blue
This review is for the LUPURTY Men's Suits Slim Fit, 3 Piece Suits for Men, 2 Buttons Solid Jacket Vest Pants, Tuxedo Set (XS navy blue and black sets). I bought the XS knowing my son's measurements were actually below the size guide for that size, but I'm glad I did because it still worked out. The suit was a bit big—especially in the pants, which were quite long, and slightly roomy in the shoulders and arms—but it still looked sharp and well put-together. The overall fit has a clean, tailored appearance despite the extra room. The material feels high-quality and the color is true to what’s shown online. I do wish the black suit came with a black or gray tie instead of blue, which didn’t quite match. The suit in the photos is the navy blue set that my son wore to his 8th grade graduation, which matched their school colors perfectly. I also included my son’s measurements to help others with sizing: Weight 114 lbs Height 5'3" Chest 30.5" Waist 29" Hip 35" Sleeve length 21.5" Shoulder 17" Inseam 29" Back length 18.5"

Sharp and Expensive Quality Tuxedo for special events!!
Size: Small, Color: Black
I researched for several tuxedos for my son's prom, we chose this one, and I'm very glad that we did! The fit is nice, the durability is great. Very classy looking! The quality is really surprising for this price, it looks like a $200 dollar suit. My son is very picky and was very pleased with this tuxedo. The seams are very good and all the buttons are correct. We did receive the tie and everything that was supposed to be with it as I know reviews were saying they didn't get certain things but we did. I really like the adjustable waste because my son is very slim, but tall and has a long torso. This Tuxedo allowed him to be super excited that we have everything we need for his first prom! True to color as we purchased the black and it is sharp!
