The idea of setting up an Association for all members of the Airship Branch of the Imperial German Navy was first mooted in 1921 by former Zeppelin commander Baron Treusch von Buttlar-Brandenfels. Owing to the considerable political and economic turmoil in post war Germany however, it was not safe enough to do so until 1924, when the ÒMarine-Luftschiffer-VereinÓ (MLV) was finally established in Hamburg. The first Chairman of the Association was von Buttlar-Brandenfels and the aim of the Association was to keep the memory of the airships, their crews and their achievements alive. In 1949, the Association was renamed the ÒMarine-Luftschiffer-KameradschaftÓ (MLK). True to its original aims, there was no formal joining fee or subscription. Annual donations appropriate to the individualsÕ means were all that was asked.
The MLK produced quarterly Newsletters that were hand typed and xeroxed. Image quality was of course of basic photocopy standard and relatively poor by modern standards.
With the death of its last Chairman, Kurt Puzicha, the MLK was formally disbanded in August 1997 when no successor could be found. A small circle of dedicated MLK members (Horn, Redner, Henningsen and others) formed an online research group to continue to uphold the work, the aims, tradition and altruistic spirit of the Association.
Thanks to the great generosity of Harry Redner therefore, this book contains the first ever translations of those final years of the MLK Newsletters from 1980 Ð 1997 in the hope that their legacy will not be entirely forgotten.

Great quality, no holes or fading!
Size: Medium, Color: Black/Assorted
I purchased these socks a couple years ago and love them so much that I just recently purchased them again! They fit perfectly, don't make my feet sweaty, and hit the ankle at the right spot. The material is so good that over years they have not faded and even though I wear the same few pairs every day, they have no signs of thinning or holes! These are the ONLY socks that I buy. I have the black ones as well as the multi-colored ones. I will never buy another brand or style again!

Well made and perform well, a little constricting
Size: Medium, Color: Black Assortment (6-pairs)
These socks definitely keep most of the moisture away from my feet, even in wet conditions, which is why I bought them. I am diabetic, though, and the recommendation is to wear socks that don't constrict at any point. These have a tight band around the opening that while it is not uncomfortable on, leaves a mark when I take them off. So far it's been ok, but if you have any kind of swelling in your feet or ankles these would probably not be the best. My foot measures size 8 and I wear size 9 Brooks running shoes. The socks fit me just right but based on the size of the opening and the overall length, I wouldn't think they would fit anyone more than a size larger. Overall well made and perform well as you would expect from this brand.
