Recorded at Red Bull Studios, Sao Paulo, Entremundos is like a cosmic musical playground where Ethio-jazz, Indian classical, and Oriental sounds dance around Afro-Brazilian roots rhythms and Northern hemisphere jazz, funk, soul, library music, and hip-hop influences. The sheer vastness of the album is astounding, Nomade Orquestra have quite literally conquered the world in sound. Nomade Orquestra are some of the most accomplished musicians in their city. They're also avid record collectors, citing the coming-together of their expansive musical knowledges as key to their unique sound. Album opener "Jardim de Zaira" - a tribute to the neighborhood on the outskirts of the famous ABC region, where the band meet and rehearse - hosts a playful unison of vibraphone, guitar, horns, and keyboards reminiscent of Stereolab's funkiest late '90s output. "Felag Mengu" lies somewhere between the groovy, brooding Ethio-jazz of Mulatu Astatke and Tinariwen's hazy desert rock, and "Olho Do Tempo" is another enchanting incarnation of the band's impossible to define brand of global roots music. The album's wildest moment comes from the roaring off-road, big-band joy-ride "Rinoceronte Blues" with hillbilly harmonica, soulful organ stabs, and soaring horn arrangements, further highlighting the depths of Nomade Orquestra's endless span of influences. With Gilles Peterson singing their praise and rave reviews from the likes of Wax Poetics, Record Collector, and Songlines, Nomade Orquestra's self-titled debut album (FARO 189CD/LP, 2015) launched them from their humble beginnings to international recognition. They also embarked on their first tour outside of Brazil.

A good birds-eye view book.
Format: Paperback
I own the print version of this book, and am using it to teach a high school class on Godot. What I like: it's accessible and descriptive. The explanations in the later book of why the author is doing something are pretty good. They are written in plain English and most of the reasoning for why some things are being done are explained.
What I don't like: the print quality *is* dark, but I'm not sure what you can do about that given that most of Godot is using a dark UI and the book is in black and white. I found it legible, most of the time, but there were moments I had to decipher it from context. Also, I think the initial scripting section is light on details and almost pointless from an educational standpoint. It shows the reader what is going on in normal GDScript, but does not take them through any exercises. The programming aspect of the book is better explained in later chapters, but I think for true beginners the scripting section should be reworked.
Overall, I will use it but will supplement it for students. For personal use: if you have basic Godot knowledge this will probably not add too much to your abilities. If you are new to gamedev this is a good way to pick up the flow quickly, even though there is not a lot of depth.

Very poor print quality
Format: Paperback
The contrast is so low on the images that in many cases they are nearly illegible. There are many sentences which are similar to "by clicking on the [illegible text/icon] button, you can...". Not helpful.
"If you look at Figure 2-14 you can see the output...". No, no I can't.
Maybe the eBook version is better, but the print version is very poor quality.

A Must-Read for Anyone Building (or Rebuilding) a Community—from the Ground Up or Within a Studio

Mastering Community Management by Victoria Tran is easily one of the most approachable, grounded, and genuinely helpful books I’ve read on the subject. It’s not weighed down by corporate jargon or vague motivational fluff. Instead, it reads like a knowledgeable friend sitting beside you, walking you through what community actually is and what it isn’t.
As a small indie developer trying to revitalize my own brand and reconnect with my community after a long absence, this book hit at exactly the right time. It gave me not only strategies, but the right questions to ask myself about the kind of experience I want to create. Too many resources focus on surface-level tactics—Victoria goes deeper. She invites you to reflect on your values, your voice, and your long-term goals, then gives you tools to act on them.
One of the strongest aspects of this book is how clearly it distinguishes community management from marketing, social media, PR, and other often-blurred roles. If you’ve ever struggled to explain the value of community work to stakeholders or collaborators, this book gives you the language, examples, and frameworks to make your case with clarity and confidence.
It’s also deeply aware of the wide range of contexts in which community work happens. Tran never assumes you're working with a massive team or unlimited resources. Whether you're part of a AAA studio, a two-person indie dev team, a hobbyist group, or something in between, the book respects those differences and offers flexible, practical guidance that can be scaled or remixed to fit your needs.
The book is packed with real-world examples and thoughtful exercises that walk you through both practical strategies and big-picture thinking. You’re not just handed advice—you’re invited to work through your own approach using templates, prompts, and reflection activities that are grounded in real experience.
Every chapter is dense with insights that are critical for new developers and also thought-provoking for those who’ve been in the industry a while. And while the book is focused on video game communities, its frameworks feel highly adaptable. As someone also working in the tabletop space, I found that many of the ideas translated beautifully—especially in a field where so much success is driven by small, tight-knit communities and word-of-mouth engagement.

Rare that we get a book that encompasses so much vital information about the games industry that can also be utilized across a number of fields, rarer still that we get to learn from one of the best in a funny, heartfelt and down to earth book that is a steal at any price. You will read this, and come back to this book, for the years to come.
