Six Questions Your Smashburger Franchise Pitch Deck Must Answer

We built this franchise unit pitch deck in Microsoft PowerPoint format using our own deep-dive research into the fast-casual burger sector. Every slide is pre-populated with realistic data, such as a Year 1 revenue projection of $2,175,000 and a 5.5% royalty fee, ensuring your presentation is grounded in franchise reality. You can edit every number and word to reflect your specific site and local market conditions while maintaining a professional, data-driven tone.

Why now, and what local gap does this unit fill?

The local market is currently underserved by high-quality, gourmet burger options that offer the speed of a fast-casual environment. Consumers are defintely moving away from traditional fast food toward premium ingredients and localized experiences, creating a prime opening for a 'better burger' concept in high-traffic corridors.

Market Opportunity

  • Rising demand for Certified Angus Beef in the local area.
  • Lack of modern, 'fast-fine' dining options for young professionals.
  • Opportunity to capture late-night dining traffic from local entertainment hubs.
[dynamic_pic9]

What is the solution and why does it beat locals?

This unit offers a superior product through a signature 'smashing' technique that locks in flavor, paired with a modern interior that bridges the gap between fast food and fine dining. By combining premium quality with a streamlined kitchen, we provide a sophisticated experience that local independent shops and generic chains cannot match.

Competitive Advantage

  • Proprietary cooking technology ensures consistent quality and speed.
  • Localized menu items like the 'Austin Smash' create community exclusivity.
  • Advanced digital ordering reduces wait times for tech-savvy customers.
[dynamic_pic10]

Who are the customers and how big is the market?

Our primary targets are young professionals and university students who value quality and speed, alongside corporate clients needing reliable catering. With a Year 1 revenue target of $2,175,000, we are tapping into a significant local opportunity driven by high-density office and campus locations.

Target Demographics

  • Young professionals seeking $900,000 in annual burger sales volume.
  • Corporate offices providing high-volume, recurring catering contract revenue.
  • Local enthusiasts looking for a premium, localized gourmet burger scene.
[dynamic_pic11]

How does the unit generate profit and cash flow?

The unit makes money through four main streams: dine-in, digital/delivery, catering, and late-night sales, maintaining a tight 14% food ingredient cost. By diversifying revenue, we can achieve an EBITDA of $506,000 in the first year despite fixed costs like the $18,000 monthly rent for a prime location.

Revenue and Margins

  • Four distinct revenue streams including high-margin catering orders.
  • Strict 14% food COGS (Cost of Goods Sold) through franchisor supply chains.
  • Projected Year 1 EBITDA margin of approximately 23% of sales.
[dynamic_pic12]

Who is the competition and what is the moat?

Main competitors include traditional fast-food chains and local independent burger bars, but our unit wins through brand standards and strategic partnerships. Our defensible edge is built on a mix of corporate-backed operational excellence and local ties, such as craft brewery collaborations, that rivals can't easily replicate.

Defensible Edge

  • Exclusive partnerships with local icons for unique menu offerings.
  • High-visibility flagship location on the North Lamar corridor.
  • Superior operational throughput compared to local independent competitors.
[dynamic_pic13]

What funding is needed and what are the goals?

We require funding to cover a $40,000 franchise fee and $650,000 in leasehold improvements, with a total initial investment aimed at hitting breakeven by March 2026. These funds will unlock a high-performance kitchen capable of generating over $3.7M in annual revenue by Year 5.

Funding and Milestones

  • $400,000 allocated for specialized kitchen equipment and technology.
  • Targeting a 3-month window to reach operational breakeven.
  • Full investment payback projected within a 5-year timeline.

Finance: update unit break-even and payback model by Friday.

It's a beast and you can add attachments to, like a brush cutter head.
Style: 16" (2 x 4Ah)
This thing is a beast of a battery powered machine. I wouldn't put it completely up against my gas. It is much better than the Greenworks 24V 13-Inch Brushless String Trimmer (Gen 2), 4.0Ah USB Battery and Charger Included that I had purchased this time last year. I have several gas so I only really needed a light duty one to do the fence line and around the house. The main issue with the 13 inch was that the auto feed bump mechanism was worthless. It also uses very thin lines so very quickly you go from 13 inches to 6 to 8. and the bump feed does not work even with greenworks replacement spools. You get twice the batteries and a dual rapid charger for $50 more. You couldn't even buy the battery for that much. onto this thing. Love the dual string heavy-duty string mechanism. Love the fact that you can remove the trimmer head and add an attachment. I have attachments from my gas Trimmers and they work perfectly. My brush head attachment utterly devastated thick bramble from an overgrown lot. The best part is it took me two hours to get my stored gas trimmers to run properly which I don't have to do with a battery operated device. No gas flying that deteriorated or primer bubbles that have burst followed spark plugs Stale gas . Just throw the batteries on and you're off. Nothing long-term to report, only had it a week. Used it enough to run down completely six sets of batteries.

Works well, but battery life is lacking
Style: 15" (2 x 2Ah)
This is a decent trimmer and gets the job done almost as well as a gas model. It has decent power (could use a little more) and is plenty light. However, the battery life stinks. One of the two batteries has already decided not to charge. It plugs in, but the charger does not blink or charge it. The terminals are clean. Of course, this happened just outside the return/support window, meaning I now have to buy a new battery just to use the trimmer. That's about half the price of the trimmer; if the other one dies, too, I may as well buy a brand new gas trimmer for the price and have the thing last for a decade or two like my last one, instead of a couple years like this one.

Overall very good product.
Style: 15" (2 x 2Ah)
I bought this trimmer as I had previously bought a Greenworks 24V MAX Cordless drill that uses the same battery. The batteries to buy them alone are over 50 dollars each and as this has two its a great value in that respect. I was tired of electric trimmers with cords or noisy gas powered ones that are hard to start. This so far has worked excellent. I have not had a problem with the trimmer cord breaking and having to re-wind it back onto the spool like some other trimmers I have used. It is not noisy and it is effective and easy to use. The only thing I would disagree on is it is advertised as having an Ultra lightweight design. It is not heavy or cumbersome to use but I would not call it ultra lightweight. Overall very good product.

Extremely diappointing
Style: 15" (2 x 2Ah)
I purchased a Greenworks Impact Wrench for my son. I was so so impressed with it that I purchased one for myself & decided to try their 2x24V 15" Cordless String Trimmer. Unfortunately just because a company makes one excellent tool doesn't mean that all their tools are good. The first problem I had with the trimmer was that it didn't come with the batteries or charger in the ad. It was supposed to have 4.0Ah batteries but came with 2.0Ah. In addition, more often than not, the manual didn't agree with actual parts & features. The trimmer requires two 24V batteries to operate. It can't be used with one battery even though it has a "low power" setting. On full power the trimmer had adequate power for most weeds but is no where near as powerful as a gas trimmer. The batteries only lasted about 20 minutes (this trimmer does not have a brushless motor). The 2 line feed head is not designed for easy reloading. In fact, it is the worst design I've ever owned. I've decided to return it & try one of their 2x24V brushless motor trimmers which should provide more power & has 4.0Ah batteries but costs significantly more.

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TRASH - edited
Style: 15" (2 x 2Ah)
I bought this product and it arrived with one battery that doesn't charge out of the two. Without 2 batteries, it won't work at all. Attempted to contact Greenworks with the number Amazon provided. They were closed on the weekends. Called Monday and the message stated that customer support closed early. Attempted using the Chat option for help. It states the model number STE304, doesn't exist, so I couldn't proceed. Called on Tuesday. I have been on hold for over an hour and still nothing. Will update. After about an hour and a half on hold (yes, the offer the option of leaving a call back number, which I didn't use as I had to work from home to access customer service when they were open. Also, they needed me to try out stuff with the batteries and give them serial numbers, etc.) The lady I spoke to spoke English and appeared to be US based. Eventually, after doing the "did you restart it" version of troubleshooting, it was indeed determined my battery didn't work and they offered to ship me a new one at no cost. I then had to dispose of my non-working battery in the proper manner, and our yearly toxic garbage pick up coincided with this, thankfully. It took time out of my work schedule to get this resolved, but the lady I spoke to was great and I did get my battery about a week or so later, which I did appreciate. Customer service needs better access esp since you have to have the physical batteries and charger to get this resolved, which you may not be able to do while working. Maybe they can't find people to work as that seems to be an issue everywhere. The weed eater works fine. Updated from one star to three based on resolving issues and a dead battery upon arrival, rather than the actual equipment working.
