Since 2000, pianist and keyboardist Morten Qvenild has been one of the most creative musicians in the Norwegian music scene. Qvenild has both an unusual flair for pop and a passion for experimentation and improvisation. Now, at last, his long-awaited debut solo album has arrived. Qvenild is probably most well known as a member of the unusual piano trio In the Country, half of the duo sPaceMonkey with drummer Gard Nilssen, and Susanna Wallumrod's partner in Susanna and the Magical Orchestra, but he has also played in a number of other bands. Altogether Qvenild has appeared on at least 50 albums with artists such as The National Bank, Solveig Slettahjell Slow Motion Quintet, Susanne Sundfor, Arve Henriksen, Thomas Dybdahl, Marit Larsen, Nils Petter Molvaer, Shining, Jaga Jazzist, Frida Annevik, and Trinity, as well as many others. Since 2012, Qvenild has been working on developing a project called The HYPer (sonal) Piano. By integrating various types of electronics into the grand piano he has radically expanded the instrument's sonic palette. The inventive tunes and improvisations on his solo debut, Personal Piano, create a platform that highlights a unique and heavily processed world of sound and a remarkably intense musical idiom. The music is primarily instrumental, but Qvenild also sings on a few tracks. The music on Personal Piano is the sum of Qvenild's personal interests combined with a wealth of sources of inspiration: a catchy melody, birches, noise, restlessness, snow, James Blake, words, wood, Radiohead, plastic, running, the abrupt, the child, the pine tree, melancholy, Frode Grytten, travelling, travelling too much, not travelling, travelling to the wrong place, a cabin, ashes, Olivier Messiaen, Hans Borli, not knowing, metal, electrons, euphoria, contemplating, skis, underground, Murakami, kayak, country, in the country, the dark chords and the shimmering light. The album was recorded and produced by Morten Qvenild himself at The Green Room, and mixed and mastered by Jorgen Traeen.

Neither bad nor terrific. A rehash of AC 2

I purchased the book hoping it would be something completely new with Ezio, a unique story told by the author that was unrelated to the series. Sadly, it wasn't. This book was great in refreshing much of what happens in Assassin's Creed 2 and some of the memory assignments you can do in Brotherhood (and perhaps Revelations too, though at the time of writing this review, I've only barely dug into Revelations). But because I knew what to expect, I wasn't sitting on the edge of my seat to read it.
The one tidbit I didn't like was that it seemed the author sometimes used too many commas. It's minor, but I frequently had to re-read some sentences to ensure it wasn't a run-on. I do like that there's a glossary in the back for the Italian that's frequently sprinkled in.
All in all, if you've not played Assassins Creed 2, this would be great for quickly getting caught up (though I'd recommend the game instead for the visual/aural experience) or if you need a refresher. Otherwise, this might be a bit dull since you'll know what to expect.

Assassins Creed Renaissance is a fantastic read whether you have played the game or not. It follows the story of assassins creed 2 to the letter but also adds more story elements that help answer some of the games little questions that were left unanswered. It is also a great read for anyone who hasn't played the game as it requires no prior knowledge of the assassins creed universe. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a more in depth look at the game or anyone who just wants a good book to read.

Its a dream come true
Format: Hardcover
The book comes BRAND NEW. Wrapped perfectly and HUGE. the book is So much bigger then I anticipated and has over 192 pages in it full of art and mostly art. It includes storyboards, Characters art and sheets, Sketches, official art backgrounds and so much more. Its an amazing reference nothing dented broken whatsoever. Best piece ever especially accounting its meant to be 40$ dollars.
