Most daily threads are concerned with small (but not trivial subjects), but occasionally, a thread will erupt into a deep treatment of intellectual issues. Experienced as they come, they do not necessarily define my experience of the forum, but these threads dominate the ÒTopÓ posts of all time . I am interested in this divide, and how a transformation into a different medium will affect it.

What happens to a forum like this when it is transformed but not deformed, when we are all relegated to status of Òlurker,Ó and the external memory is not a search bar but an physical object once again?
