A special fiftieth anniversary edition of Kurt Vonnegut's masterpiece, "a desperate, painfully honest attempt to confront the monstrous crimes of the twentieth century" (Time), featuring a new introduction by Kevin Powers, author of the National Book Award finalist The Yellow Birds Selected by the Modern Library as one of the 100 best novels of all time Slaughterhouse-Five, an American classic, is one of the world's great antiwar books. Centering on the infamous World War II firebombing of Dresden, the novel is the result of what Kurt Vonnegut described as a twenty-three-year struggle to write a book about what he had witnessed as an American prisoner of war. It combines historical fiction, science fiction, autobiography, and satire in an account of the life of Billy Pilgrim, a barber's son turned draftee turned optometrist turned alien abductee. As Vonnegut had, Billy experiences the destruction of Dresden as a POW. Unlike Vonnegut, he experiences time travel, or coming "unstuck in time." An instant bestseller, Slaughterhouse-Five made Kurt Vonnegut a cult hero in American literature, a reputation that only strengthened over time, despite his being banned and censored by some libraries and schools for content and language. But it was precisely those elements of Vonnegut's writing--the political edginess, the genre-bending inventiveness, the frank violence, the transgressive wit--that have inspired generations of readers not just to look differently at the world around them but to find the confidence to say something about it. Authors as wide-ranging as Norman Mailer, John Irving, Michael Crichton, Tim O'Brien, Margaret Atwood, Elizabeth Strout, David Sedaris, Jennifer Egan, and J. K. Rowling have all found inspiration in Vonnegut's words. Jonathan Safran Foer has described Vonnegut as "the kind of writer who made people--young people especially--want to write." George Saunders has declared Vonnegut to be "the great, urgent, passionate American writer of our century, who offers us . . . a model of the kind of compassionate thinking that might yet save us from ourselves." Fifty years after its initial publication at the height of the Vietnam War, Vonnegut's portrayal of political disillusionment, PTSD, and postwar anxiety feels as relevant, darkly humorous, and profoundly affecting as ever, an enduring beacon through our own era's uncertainties. "Poignant and hilarious, threaded with compassion and, behind everything, the cataract of a thundering moral statement."--The Boston GlobeBinding Type: Hardcover

Comfortable & Sexy!!!
I was looking for a sexy, comfortable bra to wear at home. For those with large breasts, I'm sure you understand the frustration of trying to find a bra that doesn't look you're in a back brace. After ordering this style in two cup sizes in three band sizes each, I found the fit that was best for me and now own three of these gorgeous bras! I could have made do with three or four of the six of the sizes I ordered, but the 38G provided the most comfort & coverage. Speaking of coverage, this isn't really a balconette bra as the breasts are completely covered by fabric. I LOVE that the sides don't cut in and come up high enough to cover any underarm bra fat. Even with the complete coverage, this bra is VERY sexy because of its sheerness. My husband has always complained about my other bras being too thick when he'd come in for an embrace and a squeeze, but he loves this one! It does allow for erect nipples to show through a shirt, so it may not be appropriate for every occasion or for those that are concerned about that sort of thing. For me, this bra is perfect for around the home or for quick errands out. It's very comfortable and sexy enough to wear to bed as lingerie with pretty panties under a sheer robe or just under a nightshirt. It provides medium support as far as lift, but it does allow for quite a bit of bounce which the hubs also enjoys, lol. With this bra being so reasonably priced, I'm hoping it comes out in several more pastel and bright colors, especially red, because I am ready to buy them all!

Favorite bra
Size: 36F, Color: Black
LOVE this bra. The straps sit a little wider on the shoulders since it's a balconette, but it is so comfortable and I have not once felt the need to immediately take it off when I get home from work. I've even gotten into bed forgetting I had it on. I don't agree with reviews stating to size down, and I feel like it fits just perfect as long as you've got fresh measurements and know your current size. Aside from being comfortable and practical, it's pretty sexy since you can see through it. I now own it in blue and black, and I'd love to see some more color options.

New favorite bra!
Size: 42G, Color: Black
I loveeeee this sheer bra. I have a large chest and often struggle to find supportive and lifting bras that don’t add bulk. I loved this so much I ordered 3 more. This actually is great for larger bust sizes. I was shocked.
