The conclusion to author Richard Neil LaBute Jr.’s exciting trilogy, following The Search and From Across the Waters, takes us to Japan, where young liberal heirs to centuries-old fiefdoms unite to bring about the end to the Tokugawa Shogunate. The two-hundred-fifty-year reign of Tokugawa military rule is over. The Restoration has brought the Meiji Emperor out of the secluded confines of Kyoto and back to the center of government and power in old Yedo, now Tokyo. The Sonno Joi, revere the Emperor, expel the barbarians movement has succeeded, yet failed. The Shogun is gone, but the hated bakufu, Tokugawa-era government bureaucrats, remain. Japan as a nation quickly sheds its medieval past, rapidly emulates, then seizes a place at the table of modern nations, much to the dismay and expense of its neighbors—north, south, west, and ultimately the United States and its possessions to the east.

In Europe, Prussia, with the help of Bavaria, cements together a Germanic nation, as France tends to its colonies on many continents. The three-hundred-year-old Romanov Russian Empire teeters on the brink of disaster and revolution. Equally decrepit empires of the Ottoman Turks, Austro-Hungarians, and Ching Dynasty of China also near their end. The riddance of imperial overlords, national identity, and the power of the proletariat are themes du jour, of the day.

Perfect Pup Pal
Color: Green
I purchased this dog toy as a birthday gift for a friend's dog, and it exceeded all expectations. Knowing she is particular about toys and easily frightened by many, I spent quite some time choosing the perfect one. From the moment she took it out of the box, she adored it. Everyone at her birthday party was amazed. Watching her happily play with her new toy, which we've come to call Allie, is truly heartwarming. The quality is outstanding. It is well made, safe, and nearly indestructible, yet gentle enough on her mouth. I will definitely be buying more from this store.

Awesome toy!! Labrador Retriever approved
Color: Green
I bought this for my nephew’s Labrador retriever. He pulled it out of the bag and immediately started taking it around for everyone to throw around and play tug a war with. He played with it for hours outside (it definitely needed washing lol). Its durable showed no signs of tearing. I would definitely recommend this!!

Cute but not for a super chewer
Color: Green, Color: Green
It’s a super cute toy. My boy loves the squeaker toys and he’s a fast chewer. Unfortunately for him, he tore it up within 24 hours. It’s definitely not for super chewers but he had a good time with it while it lasted!

Bully approved
If he wants something to gnaw on he will sit with it but he doesn't really play with it. Which is probably the point. It's lasted. The ends are the most chewed. Overall great for a chewer!

Surprisingly Durable
Color: Green
Our dog is an aggressive chewer. She has destroyed other toys meant for "aggressive chewers" in less that 6 hours. This toy has lasted 17 days and it's still going. It does have areas were the seam has given way and a very small amount of stuffing has come out. She has "killed" the squeaker. But the toy is still usable. We just played Tug of War this morning. It will not last forever. It is showing it's "age". But the durability is there. I am ordering more.
