"Winter in Taos" starkly contrasts Luhan's memoirs, published in four volumes and inspired by Marcel Proust's "Remembrances of Things Past." They follow her life through three failed marriages, numerous affairs, and ultimately a feeling of "being nobody in myself," despite years of psychoanalysis and a luxurious lifestyle on two continents among the leading literary, art and intellectual personalities of the day. "Winter in Taos" unfolds in an entirely different pattern, uncluttered with noteworthy names and ornate details. With no chapters dividing the narrative, Luhan describes her simple life in Taos, New Mexico, this "new world" she called it, from season to season, following a thread that spools out from her consciousness as if she's recording her thoughts in a journal. "My pleasure is in being very still and sensing things," she writes, sharing that pleasure with the reader by describing the joys of adobe rooms warmed in winter by aromatic cedar fires; fragrant in spring with flowers; and scented with homegrown fruits and vegetables being preserved and pickled in summer. Having wandered the world, Luhan found her home at last in Taos. "Winter in Taos" celebrates the spiritual connection she established with the "deep living earth" as well as the bonds she forged with Tony Luhan, her "mountain." This moving tribute to a land and the people who eked a life from it reminds readers that in northern New Mexico, where the seasons can be harshly beautiful, one can bathe in the sunshine until "'untied are the knots in the heart, ' for there is nothing like the sun for smoothing out all difficulties." Born in 1879 to a wealthy Buffalo family, Mabel Dodge Luhan earned fame for her friendships with American and European artists, writers and intellectuals and for her influential salons held in her Italian villa and Greenwich Village apartments. In 1917, weary of society and wary of a world steeped in war, she set down roots in remote Taos, New Mexico, then publicized the tiny town's inspirational beauty to the world, drawing a steady stream of significant guests to her adobe estate, including artist Georgia O'Keeffe, poet Robinson Jeffers, and authors D.H. Lawrence and Willa Cather. Luhan could be difficult, complex and often cruel, yet she was also generous and supportive, establishing a solid reputation as a patron of the arts and as an author of widely read autobiographies. She died in Taos in 1962.Binding Type: Paperback

Great enrichment
Size: 2.8in for Small & Medium Dogs
These are great for our 3 dogs, they’re durable and strong. The pup ford training treats fit great into these and it takes our dogs a good bit to get all the treats out. Easy to clean and a great enrichment toy, will buy again!

My dog looks forward to this every day
Size: 2.8in for Small & Medium Dogs
My dog used to have separation anxiety every time I left the house. I tried to find things to distract her when I left, but nothing kept her attention long enough for me to get out of the house. I stuff treats in this ball and she keeps focused and gets all of the treats out. Perfect solution to keep her occupied as I leave for work. Very easy to put treats in and I’ve had it for about 6 months now, which is great because my dog chews toys to pieces within days! High quality ball. I love it so much (well, my dog loves it so much), I bought one to give my neighbor’s dog.

Good toy, wish it was slightly bigger
Size: 2.8in for Small & Medium Dogs, Size: 2.8in for Small & Medium Dogs
I got the medium to large size ball for my elderly boxer who has suddenly taken to chewing on everything. The toy has been a decent purchase.
Pros: not incredibly stiff plastic for elderly dogs. Easy to manipulate to put treats in the spikes. Easy to clean. Seems engaging for my dog.
Cons: probably not for super chewers. This size is probably too small for large or extra large dogs. My dog can easily fit this in his mouth and I wish it was just a little bigger. The ball can only hold one mini milk bone per slot, so it makes for treats to be really easily pulled out. Can't comment on durability yet, haven't had it for long enough.
Overall, I like this toy. I just wish it was slightly wider or bigger.

Durable, Fun, Useful!
Size: 1.8in for Puppy Dogs
This treat dispenser is so great! For one thing, it's sturdy and will last forever. It will get lost before it wears out. This is my second order because I can't find the first one . . . so I bought this pack of two. In one, I put peanut butter. In the second one, I put toothpaste, just a squirt for each opening. My dog LOVES to chew on this even after she has consumed 98% of whatever I put in there. In short, it occupies her attention, which is a blessing! It's both a treat and a toy. It also bounces well and can be thrown as a ball. It will LAST far longer than any ofher other balls, too. My dog has a tiny mouth and larger balls are too big or too hard for her. If I could give it more stars, I would!
