NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - Includes Elizabeth Strout's never-before-published essay about the origins of The Burgess BoysNAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY
The Washington Post - NPR - Good Housekeeping Elizabeth Strout "animates the ordinary with an astonishing force," wrote The New Yorker on the publication of her Pulitzer Prize-winning Olive Kitteridge. The San Francisco Chronicle praised Strout's "magnificent gift for humanizing characters." Now the acclaimed author returns with a stunning novel as powerful and moving as any work in contemporary literature. Haunted by the freak accident that killed their father when they were children, Jim and Bob Burgess escaped from their Maine hometown of Shirley Falls for New York City as soon as they possibly could. Jim, a sleek, successful corporate lawyer, has belittled his bighearted brother their whole lives, and Bob, a Legal Aid attorney who idolizes Jim, has always taken it in stride. But their long-standing dynamic is upended when their sister, Susan--the Burgess sibling who stayed behind--urgently calls them home. Her lonely teenage son, Zach, has gotten himself into a world of trouble, and Susan desperately needs their help. And so the Burgess brothers return to the landscape of their childhood, where the long-buried tensions that have shaped and shadowed their relationship begin to surface in unexpected ways that will change them forever. With a rare combination of brilliant storytelling, exquisite prose, and remarkable insight into character, Elizabeth Strout has brought to life two deeply human protagonists whose struggles and triumphs will resonate with readers long after they turn the final page. Tender, tough-minded, loving, and deeply illuminating about the ties that bind us to family and home, The Burgess Boys is Elizabeth Strout's newest and perhaps most astonishing work of literary art. "What truly makes Strout exceptional . . . is the perfect balance she achieves between the tides of story and depths of feeling."--Chicago Tribune "Strout's prose propels the story forward with moments of startlingly poetic clarity."--The New Yorker
"Elizabeth Strout's first two books, Abide with Me and Amy and Isabelle, were highly thought of, and her third, Olive Kitteridge, won the Pulitzer Prize in fiction. But The Burgess Boys, her most recent novel, is her best yet."--The Boston Globe
"A portrait of an American community in turmoil that's as ambitious as Philip Roth's American Pastoral but more intimate in tone."--Time
" Strout's] extraordinary narrative gifts are evident again. . . . At times The Burgess Boys is] almost effortlessly fluid, with superbly rendered dialogue, sudden and unexpected bolts of humor and . . . startling riffs of gripping emotion."--Associated Press " Strout] is at her masterful best when conjuring the two Burgess boys. . . . Scenes between them ring so true."--San Francisco Chronicle

The Best Fluoride-Free Toothpaste I've Tried
Flavor Name: 1. Sensitive Mint, Size: 5.25 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I've been using Davids Hydroxi Fluoride-Free Nano Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste for several weeks, and it has completely exceeded my expectations.
The first thing I noticed was how clean and smooth my teeth felt after brushing. Unlike many natural toothpastes, it leaves a genuinely fresh feeling without being overly harsh. The natural peppermint flavor is refreshing and pleasant without the intense burn that some mint toothpastes have.
What really impressed me is the nano-hydroxyapatite formula, which is designed to support enamel remineralization and reduce sensitivity. My teeth have become noticeably less sensitive to cold drinks, and they feel stronger overall. Nano-hydroxyapatite is gaining attention as a fluoride alternative because it can help replenish minerals in enamel and reduce sensitivity.
I also appreciate that it's:
Fluoride-free
SLS-free
Made in the USA
Vegan
Uses high-quality ingredients
Comes in a recyclable metal tube
The whitening is subtle but effective. My teeth look brighter without any increased sensitivity, and the toothpaste is gentle enough for daily use. The inclusion of xylitol and hydroxyapatite makes it feel like a premium oral care product rather than just another natural toothpaste.
While it's more expensive than conventional toothpaste, the quality and ingredients justify the price. Even dental professionals reviewing hydroxyapatite toothpastes have noted benefits for remineralization, sensitivity relief, and plaque reduction.
Overall: 5/5 stars. If you're looking for a fluoride-free toothpaste that supports enamel health, helps with sensitivity, and leaves your mouth feeling exceptionally clean, Davids Hydroxi is absolutely worth trying. Highly recommended!

Mild mint taste
Flavor Name: 1. Sensitive Mint, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I wanted to go fluoride free with my toothpaste so I decided to give this a try. I like that the flavor isn’t overly strong and it hasn’t caused any irritation at all. It doesn’t foam up as bad as my old toothpaste did. It is important to me that it’s all natural and fluoride free. My first check up at the dentist after using it went really well so it cleans your teeth really well. I would recommend it

Clean feel and gentle on teeth
Flavor Name: 1. Sensitive Mint, Size: 4 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I picked up this toothpaste because I wanted to try something a little different that focused on a more natural feel while still keeping my teeth clean, Between coffee daily meals and just normal wear I was looking for something that felt effective without being harsh, I wasnt sure how I would like a fluoride free option but it has been a nice change
When it arrived the first thing I noticed was the clean simple packaging and the peppermint scent, The texture is smooth and spreads easily without being overly foamy, It has a mild mint flavor that feels fresh without being too strong or overpowering, My spouse tried it as well and said it felt less intense than typical toothpaste which was actually a positive
After using it regularly my teeth felt clean and smooth without that overly stripped feeling some products leave behind, It has been gentle enough that I did not notice any sensitivity or irritation which is something I always pay attention to, The overall experience feels more balanced and not overly aggressive
I also like that it does not have a long list of harsh ingredients and still manages to do the job, It fits easily into a daily routine and does not require any adjustments or special steps, The tube size is practical and easy to store
For anyone looking for a toothpaste that feels gentle clean and a bit more natural this has been a good option, It keeps things simple while still providing a fresh feeling after brushing
I currently highly recommend this product. However, should issues arise I will update my review accordingly.

Only toothpaste in my household
Flavor Name: 1. Sensitive Mint, Size: 5.25 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Love this toothpaste, no fluoride, great taste, fresh breath. Great value for the price as the tube is quite large. Only downfall if that it doesn't foam well which you will find with any toothpaste not full of nasty chemicals. Only thing my family uses.
