About the work

On the occasion of Eduardo Paolozzi, 16 February - 14 May 2017, at the Whitechapel Gallery, Ciara Phillips has created a new silkscreen edition in homage to the artist.

Through the use of over twenty silkscreen layers, Ciara Phillips intended to reflect the intensity of Paolozzi's prints,  by creating something that looks as though it might be in progress.

The central figure in the print, a woman riding on a man's back, for Phillips came from thinking about Paolozzi's piece Avant-Garde?!, 1971 in which monsters fill the forms of letters and poke fun at the seriousness attributed to the avant-garde. Phillips relates the humour in that work to another, much earlier figurative alphabet Alfabeto Figurato by Giovanni Battista Bracelli (1632). Phillips has reworked Bracelli’s A’ using this as a recurring motif in the image – ‘A’ for Avant-garde.  This edition also reflects on Paolozzi's fascination with the relationship between humans and machines - here the visual language of Photoshop, and the staggering of images are indicative of the machine that has come to occupy our everyday.

Perfect case for my daughter’s iPad
Color: Purple Pink
bought this case for my daughter. The fit is perfect — all the buttons and camera line up exactly and it snaps on securely. The case feels sturdy, protective, and durable but not too heavy, so she can still carry it comfortably. The stand feature is convenient. The design is also super cute — Luna loves it Overall, great quality for the price. I would definitely buy it again

Perfect case
Color: Purple Pink
Great protection for my IPad. I’m always dropping something. This case was pretty easy to install and has the protection over the glass front. No problem using the iPad with the cover. Cute colors and has a loop to store the pen

Very versatile!
Color: Colorful Pink
I got this iPad case for myself and my two year-old daughter as we both use this iPad. This case has definitely held up very well. I love the material because it’s nonslip so it’s easy for my two-year-old to hold I also love the movable and adjustable prop on the back that also doubles as a handle. There is two spots to put your Apple Pencil, so that’s very neat. It is a little bit bulky, but it is very protective and I think that is a good trade-off. There is also a cover for the charging port to prevent dust from getting in there or any spills. At first I was a little bit weary about it having a built-in screen protector, but it’s very clear and does not interfere with using the screen at all, so it’s actually a nice touch. I really love this thing and think it is worth it!

My daughter loves it and the color is marvelous. It was easy to put on, I would buy again worth my money. Very sterdy as good for kids that love to drop their tablet. I like how its has a strap so your kid can carry it on their over there shoulders.
