Please see that I am fed and watered." Donald Duck reads the fine print on a tag worn by the mischievous ostrich, Hortense, in this animation drawing attributed to Disney Legend inductee Manuel Gonzales (1913-1993). Crafted over 85 years ago for Donald's Ostrich. This hilarious Jack King-directed short, followed Donald as he tries to care for Hortense the ostrich, all while brushing off her affection and trying to stop her from eating everything in sight. This was the ostrich's first and only appearance in a Disney short, though she would later find herself in the Donald Duck comic strip (debuting in 1938 and making her last appearance in 1944) where she would become Donald's pet. The drawing can be found starting near the 2:12 timestamp as Donald, in his train station custodian hat, leans in to read a tag attached to Hortense's neck.

The paper used by Disney studios in the 1920s-1930s contains a distinctive watermark, visible in one of the photos, which further attests to its authenticity.

Condition : The drawing show age-related toning with darker toning around the edges, handling wear, edge wear including creases and tears. (See photos)

Size : 30 x 25 cm

As the title says, the shoes were a bit hard to put on and perhaps that was because we were doing it for the first time . However, they would come off super easily and so we lost one of the shoes the second time the baby wore them. That was a bummer as they aren't particularly inexpensive. We didn't really get to try them out as much as we'd have liked but based on what we saw, they looked comfortable and durable. Baby loved the shark design.

Great shoes for the little one taking his/her first steps!! I actually ordered 2 pairs, one for my son in the 12-18 months (even tho he was 10 months old) and a 6-12 month for a friend. The 6-12 month fit my son perfect!! (my son was in a size 5) but I knew they would only last a few weeks so I kept the 12-18 month ones and he started wearing them. He seemed to like them, never tried taking them off and they were easier to walk in than socks but for some reason the top of the foot area is HUGE! They stayed on no problem but lots of wiggle room in the top... He is now running and wears shoes with a thicker sole for the rocks but we still love these for inside when it is too cold to go barefoot. I would say the 12-18 month fit like an average size 6.
