Care Guide

☀️ Light

Thrives in low to medium indirect light, making it one of the best options for offices, bathrooms, and rooms with limited natural light. For the most vibrant variegation, place it in bright indirect light — but avoid direct sun, which will scorch the leaves.

💧 Watering

Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. The Brasil is drought-tolerant and forgiving of missed waterings, but consistently moist (not soggy) soil encourages the fastest growth. Always use a pot with drainage to prevent root rot.

🌱 Soil & Potting

Use a well-draining potting mix. A standard indoor potting soil with added perlite works well. Repot every 1–2 years when roots begin to emerge from the drainage holes, moving up one pot size at a time.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

Comfortable in typical household temperatures of 60–85°F (15–29°C). Keep away from cold drafts and air conditioning vents. While it adapts to average humidity, higher humidity (50%+) encourages larger, more vibrant leaves.

🌿 Fertilizing

Feed monthly during spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength. No feeding needed in fall and winter. Over-fertilizing can cause tip burn and leggy growth.
