Photographs that meditate on the
vanishing place of mobile home parks in the landscape of Miami

In a collection
of images that are both quiet and telling, Sunset Colonies portrays the
vulnerabilities experienced by residents of South Florida's mobile home
communities amid rapid urban transformation and the threat of economic displacement.
Photographer Diego Waisman captures a fractured sense of place in Miami-area neighborhoods
that once flourished but are now increasingly forgotten.

Essays by scholars Amy Galpin, Louis
Herns Marcelin, and Alpesh Kantilal Patel give context to the current situation
of these trailer parks, which at first promised their occupants stability,
affordable housing, and for many, a comfortable retirement. But development
initiatives, surging rent prices, and environmental hazards have disrupted this
dream. Waisman's images, collected over seven years, ruminate on worn corrugated
exteriors, cracked ceramic tile, and the looming construction of luxury
apartment buildings nearby.

An
homage to a way of life that is quickly slipping away, Sunset Colonies
raises urgent questions about the invisibility of mobile communities, their
histories, and their potential futures. Waisman also emphasizes the strength
and resilience of people whose definition of home lies in the balance between
memory and encroaching reality. Together, the images and essays in this book
create a multilayered meditation on place, community, and dignity.

Not quite it
Didn't work like it said. They were cooling, yes...but my puffiness was still there when I took them off. The quality of the patches are quite flimsy so be careful, they rip easily and kind of dissolve in your hand.

5 Star Trimmer
Excellent quality! Noise level is a bit high, but definitely gets the job done expeditiously. Very easy to clean and functional.

Where'd that cap go!?
This trimmer works well. I've looked over the one star reviews and I cannot imagine what those people were doing with their trimmers. I've had this device for three months or so. And I like it. It's quiet, and does a good job in your nose and ears. So after all that you're probably wondering why didn't you give it five stars? I marked it down one because of the shape., and maybe the height. Because they both contribute to this thing falling or being knocked over again and again and again. This devices base is less than an inch across and it about 5 inches high. I keep knocking it over just about any time my hand is anywhere near where it is. Because our fingers naturally curl, I keep knocking this thing over. And while that's not usually a big deal. It has a small cap that shoots off and runs under dressers, tables, chairs, just about anything with a space under it. Mine even went under the fridge one time and the stove on another occasion. I've decided not to let it get to me, because I like the functionality of the device. That five inch height makes it easy to hold on to. And if I wind up losing the cap. It won't matter.

Pleasantly surprised..
This Nose, Facial & Body Trimmer is really a multipurpose product with all the benefits from all the attachments that are included. I am very pleased with how neat, clean, and smooth it leaves my skin. I can carry it with me on the go or use it from the comfort from my own home. I spray it with a tea tree and alcohol mix to keep it sanitized. I can give it a 4.5-star rating. The only suggestion I would make to make a really good product great is having a few more attachments that flexible . Love it! Katrina
