Inama Azienda Agricola Vulcaia Fumè Sauvignon del Veneto
The idea, as already with the Vulcaia Sauvignon, is to show the value of the Soave territory, not just with its classic wine, but with an interpretation of the Sauvignon. This version, made from a super-selection of grapes, is fermented in oak, and is called Vulcaia Fumé. Since the start, there’s been a great interest because of its opulence and its powerful characteristic of tropical fruit, coffee, citrus and floral notes.
This is a beautiful interpretation of the Sauvignon on volcanic soil, in the Soave classico area. Production transcends the styles and trends of the moment. No competitors: A unique wine in its category, there are no similar wines.
Tasting Notes
Intense golden colour. Nose of roasted coffee with hints of oak and tropical fruits. On the palate, great fruit concentration with grapefruit, pineapple, passion fruit and citrus. Strong and persistent finish of all the contained flavours.
Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
Vinification: Destalking and crushing are followed by skin contact for about 3 hours. After the grapes are pressed, the must is allowed to settle for 12 hours at cold temperature. Alcoholic fermentation followed by malolactic fermentation takes place in 30% new barriques made from heavy toasted wood. Prior to racking, batonnage is carried out every 6 weeks for about 7 months. Fining for 6 months in stainless steel vats, filtration, through a coarse filter (without fining) occurs prior to bottling.
Best served with: Smoked fish such as herring and salmon. Also good with caviar, bottarga and roasted liver.
