Extraordinary women, groundbreaking art.

From ancient whatu kākahu to contemporary installation art, Frances Hodgkins to Merata Mita, Fiona Clark to Mataaho Collective, Sight Lines tells the story of art made by women in Aotearoa.

Gathered here are painters, photographers, performers, sculptors, weavers, textile artists, poets and activists. They have worked individually, collaboratively and in collectives. They have defied restrictive definitions of what art should be and what it can do. Their stories and their work enable us to ask new questions of art history in Aotearoa. How have tangata whenua and tangata tiriti artists negotiated their relationships to each other, and to this place? How have women used their art-making to explore their relationships to land and water, family and community, politics and the nation?

With more than 150 striking images and essays by Chloe Cull, Ngarino Ellis, Ioana Gordon-Smith, Rangimarie Sophie Jolley, Lana Lopesi, Hanahiva Rose, Huhana Smith and Megan Tamati-Quennell alongside the author, Sight Lines is a bold new account of art-making in Aotearoa through 35 extraordinary women artists.

Fresh scent and fun foam – great for the whole family
Scent: Sea Minerals, Size: 10 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Scent: Sea Minerals, Size: 10 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This soap has been great for our whole family! The kids especially love the foaming texture, which actually makes them more excited to wash their hands. The scent is really nice – kind of like a fresh, ocean-type smell that isn’t too strong but still noticeable. It leaves my hands feeling clean without drying them out, which is really important to me. A little goes a long way, so the bottle seems like it will last a while even with daily use. I also like how easy the pump is to use. Pros: • Fun foaming texture (great for kids) • Fresh, clean scent • Doesn’t dry out hands • A little goes a long way • Easy-to-use pump Cons: • Scent may not be strong enough for those who prefer heavily fragranced soaps Overall, this is a great everyday hand soap that works well for both kids and adults. Also I’ve noticed that my kids literally wash their hands more often because of the fun foam !!

Lovely Product
Scent: Grapefruit, Size: 10 Fl Oz (Pack of 3)
I hadn't heard of this hand soap before and I couldn't be happier to have discovered it. I love that it dispenses foam and it is easy to use just the right amount rather than a blob of soap in your hand. It lathers easily and yet rinses away quickly. Best of all in my opinion is the light grapefruit scent. Fragrance lasts a short time on your hands but is not overpowering and fades after a time. Will certainly purchase again.

Great hand soap.
Scent: Sweet Water, Size: 10 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I first used this soap at an Airbnb where I recently stayed. The Sweet Water scent is light, clean, and fresh smelling. The foaming texture feels soft and it rinses off quickly without leaving any residue. Unfortunately, I received one bottle without the pump. No problem, with Amazon’s return policy I had a replacement within two days. Hopefully, the packaging will improve. All-in-all, I would definitely order this soap again.

Method hand soap, how great it is
Scent: Waterfall, Size: 10 Fl Oz (Pack of 3)
I’ve been using Method foaming hand soap for a while now, and it’s become a staple in my house. The first thing I noticed was how nice the scent is—it’s clean and fresh without being overpowering or artificial. It actually makes washing your hands a little more enjoyable. The foam is light but still does a great job of cleaning, and it rinses off easily without leaving that weird residue some soaps do. I also like that it’s gentle on my skin. I wash my hands a lot throughout the day, and this doesn’t dry them out like other soaps I’ve tried. The bottle design is another plus—it looks nice on the sink and feels sturdy. The pump works smoothly and gives just the right amount of foam each time. Overall, it’s a great everyday hand soap that feels a little more high-quality than the average brand. I’d definitely recommend it if you want something effective, gentle, and smells really good.
