SVS has announced the 3000 Micro R|Evolution, a sealed compact subwoofer that replaces the original 3000 Micro and, according to the Ohio company, represents a wholesale reimagining of what a small sub can do.

The headline numbers are notable. Where the outgoing model used a pair of opposing 8″ drivers, the R|Evolution steps up to dual 9″ high-excursion units, each employing a progressive inverted surround for maximum linear displacement. The opposing driver arrangement cancels mechanical forces between the two cones, eliminating cabinet vibration (well, that’s the idea). Amplifier output doubles too: 1200 watts continuous (and 4000-plus watts peak) from a Class D stage built around discrete MOSFET transistors and a switch-mode power supply that reportedly maintains a consistent 160V rail regardless of mains conditions.

The more intriguing development is what’s running the show. SVS has fitted the 3000 Micro R|Evolution with a 295MHz Analog Devices DSP. It is tasked with managing the amplifier, driver excursion, thermal protection, and what SVS calls ‘acoustically tuned room gain’: an in-room frequency response curve shaped to exploit boundary reinforcement without tipping into boom.

The DSP also handles the SVS Subwoofer Control app’s parametric EQ suite, which includes six adjustable bands, along with volume, low-pass filter, phase, polarity, and room gain compensation, with three onboard memory presets for switching between system configurations. Like the original 3000 Micro, the R|Evolution’s output can be tweaked from the comfort of the couch. Auto Room EQ is listed as a forthcoming feature, expected in Q2 2026. Connectivity covers both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs.

The cabinet itself measures 10.9″ tall by 11.8″ wide by 10.8″ deep, roughly equivalent to the outgoing model’s footprint. SVS has opted for a sealed enclosure over a passive-radiator design, which the company says produces “bloated, one-note bass output.” Bass reach is rated by SVS at 20Hz (±3dB).

The 3000 Micro R|Evolution ships in Piano Gloss Black now, with Piano Gloss White available for pre-order ahead of an expected April 30 shipping date. All SVS products carry a five-year warranty and a 45-day in-home trial period. Pricing is set at US$999.

Not compatible with Honda CRV 2023
Style: 1.5L, Style: 1.5L
Pretty disappointed that the description did not match what my car actually needed. THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH A HONDA 2023 CRV Engine Air filter… Just glad the cabin air filter worked. Having to buy another one… The image attached is what I needed to replace.

Perfect fit and high quality.
Size: (Pack of 1)
Good product, not much to say. The product arrived quickly, looks to be of high quality construction, fit perfectly and took me only a couple of minutes to install. I love it when a product is no frills and delivers as advertised. I've used various filters from K&N before and have always had very good success with them so I will be buying more of these for sure when the time comes.

More power, slightly lower (8%) MPG.
Size: (Pack of 1)
Installed on a 2.0 liter Subaru Impreza. I drive up/down the I5 in california 3-4 times a year. For those that don't know there is about a 200 mile flat stretch where everyone runs at 75-85mph. With various filters (FRAM, BOSCH, Subaru OEM), I would consistently get 29.8 mpg. Once I installed the K&N, I could feel the car pulling with a bit more power, but I noticed that I was getting about 27.5 mpg. Totally worth it as the impreza is a little under powered and I don't drive many miles (6k/year) but if you are putting a lot of miles on your car, you may want to have more mpg.
