Rare and remarkable vintage 1980s ensemble from Geoffrey Beene. This gorgeous set is everything you could dream of finding in archival Beene, boasting pattern play, fabrics of the finest quality, and a carefree but elegant silhouette. Both the top and the skirt feature a patterned jacquard striped silk taffeta mixed with a cornflower purple-blue and beige floral linen with taupe satin trimmings throughout. Oversized, wide cut top with wide, cuffed sleeves and an off-set kimono style closure at the left chest adorned with large, faceted crystal buttons. Skirt has a fixed waist with a gathered yoke and deep pockets at sides featuring the very same crystal buttons. Matching self tie fabric belt, optional. Original tag still attached, these phenomenal pieces have never been worn.
