Reproduction of Aspens Panel I by Avery Tillmon
Avery Tillmon — "Aspens Panel I" presents a refined exploration of natural form through the lens of contemporary watercolor abstraction. The work aligns with the broader tradition of landscape painting while departing from literal representation, embracing instead a minimalist aesthetic that emphasizes line, space, and subtle tonal variation. Compositionally, the piece is anchored by a vertical arrangement of aspen trunks, their white bark marked with dark, organic blotches, creating a rhythmic visual pulse that guides the viewer’s eye through the composition. The use of negative space is deliberate and expansive, allowing the background hues—soft greens and blues—to function as atmospheric elements rather than mere backdrop, enhancing the sense of depth and tranquility. The color palette, characterized by low saturation and a cool temperature, reflects a restrained approach to color, where hue is secondary to value and luminosity. This technique echoes the influence of early 20th-century modernist watercolorists who sought to distill natural subjects to their essential forms. The work’s interpretive significance lies in its quietude and meditative quality, inviting contemplation on the interplay between structure and fluidity, stillness and movement. In its restrained elegance, "Aspens Panel I" stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of nature as both subject and metaphor in contemporary fine art.For more art by Avery Tillmon click here.

Love all her books but this one on Kindle has no color
Format: Kindle
Love that she sends free books for Kindle but this one is all black and white inside. For children should have lots of color, first time being disappointed but still good book

My son didn’t enjoy reading independently before this book
Format: Paperback
My son is 7, in 2nd grade. I got him this book in his Easter basket. Tonight he voluntarily picked it up, read the first chapter, was laughing, and then told me about it!! He’s never voluntarily picked up and read a chapter book before other than a graphic novel ! :)

the world needs more books like this!
Format: Kindle
Wholesome books for young growing readers, yes please! It’s a great mix of funny and sweet that any kid will love. I love seeing the characters grow from the unicorn and dinosaurs books. I love that they are real children too. It’s a great message for kids!

‘Was Nugget’s power guiding me to help people?’ – a fantasy tale to cherish!
Format: Kindle
Diane Alber teams with Ryan Thomas in creating their PURPLE SPACE CHICKENS series, books that focus on inspiring art and creativity in children. The characters (both human and animal) sparkle throughout and the authors open with a taste of the fun to come introducing the boy Bear: ‘My name is Bear…It’s a code name I gave myself. Why a code name? Well, everyone in this book has one. Trust me, it’s better that way. I don’t want you knowing who I really am because the last thing I need is NASA asking a dozen questions - or worse, taking my little friend. But I had to document everything, because this experience is straight out of this world…literally.’ And with that intro we meet little chicken Nugget and the story sails forth with an amazingly entertaining and creative plot. There are many attributes to this series intended for grade school kids – one fine chapter book stories that will definitely continue!
