  • Ultra Multi-Coating

An ideal portrait-length prime, the Canon EF mount 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC from Rokinon pairs a bright, fast f/1.4 maximum aperture with a short-telephoto focal length to suit portraiture and other applications where shallow depth of field is desired. This manual focus lens incorporates one hybrid aspherical element to control chromatic aberrations for increased clarity and even sharpness and illumination. An Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color neutrality. This lens is also characterized by an internal focusing design, which maintains the overall length during use, as well as an 8-blade rounded diaphragm for a smooth bokeh quality.

This 85mm f/1.4 lens features a Canon EF mount, and is compatible with full-frame sensors or APS-C sensors, where it will provide a 136mm equivalent focal length.
A fast f/1.4 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also enables extensive control over your focus position for shallow depth of field shooting.
One hybrid aspherical element helps to control chromatic aberrations and distortions for increased clarity and sharpness.
An Ultra Multi-Coating has been applied to lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color fidelity.
This manual focus lens features an internal focus design to maintain the overall lens length during use and the front filter mount does not rotate when focusing to better enable working with polarizers, graduated ND, and other filter types that require precise positioning.
A rounded eight-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality when using selective focus or shallow depth of field techniques.

Good book, this isn't my favorite (Wretched of the ...
Format: Kindle
Good book, this isn't my favorite (Wretched of the Earth continues to be) but it gives a good account of the effects of colonialism on people's psyche. Fanon masterfully demonstrates how violence is practiced on the minds and bodies of those on the receiving end of colonialism. He digs deep into how the ideology of whiteness as 'pure' and 'good' are, for one, deeply flawed, but more importantly, these false beliefs are incredibly damaging to humanity as a whole. Although it's a good book, I found some serious flaws with some of his arguments but I still think it was worth the read.

Black Nationalism
Format: Paperback
This is and was a great book. Even though he discussed the effects of racism in regards to his native land of Martinique we Mr. Fanon has to say still resounds in today's so-called PC world. I do wish he had lived long enough to see Barack Obama elected President of the United States. I would have loved to hear his take on that. The only aspect I found missing from this book is his opinion on Black American ex-patriots living in France. James Baldwin, Richard Wright, Josephine Baker.... Did these African-Americans living in Paris not realize the effect of colonolism on all Africans in the Diaspora?, or were they treated as "Honorary Whites" in France. I truly wish Frantz Fanon had explored that entire subject.

This was a graduate thesis!
Format: Paperback
Imagine how useful academia could be if this kind of writing was accepted at the doctoral level these days! Here is a concise analysis of the problem with plausible solutions. Not what seriously more than 99% of all academic writing in sociology, literature, the art, comparative literature, and anthropology hold as a gold standard today; today you must obfuscate your pointless observations with academic jargon, citation and reference to others who have made no real observations, and fighting racism by supporting a new way of talking in order to maintain the existing inequitable systems.
