veKonvert NMEA 2000 Gateway

veKonvert brings NMEA 2000 connectivity to Victrons popular SmartShunt battery monitoring system. Now a navigation multi-function display becomes a sophisticated battery and energy management system.

Features

veKonvert is a stand-alone NMEA 2000 interface designed in conjunction with Victron Energy to integrate VE.Direct compatible devices such as their SmartShunt, BMV Battery Monitors, and MPPT Solar Charge Controller range into NMEA 2000 systems.

This functionality already existed but required the use of a sophisticated Cerbo module. veKonvert is a lower-cost, simpler solution for smaller installations that just need the electrical data displayed on a multi-function display.

Boaters and boat builders like a clear and uncluttered dash or nav area, so integrating electrical data into the main navigation display is a popular and cost-saving option.

The product is a collaboration between Victron Energy and Digital Yacht. The system utilizes Victrons proprietary VE.Direct data connectivity as a source for the NMEA 2000 data.

Victron solar charge controllers (MPPTs) and battery monitors can now also interconnect to your NMEA 2000 MFD via the veKonvert interface.

Installation

Installation is simple just T into the NMEA 2000 backbone and plug into the VE.Direct custom connector on the SmartShunt, and youve got battery and electrical data on your NMEA 2000 network! Note that one veKonvert is required for each battery bank.

Specifications:

  • Universal NMEA 2000 gateway for Victron products with a VE.Direct interface

  • Enables battery management or solar charge monitoring on compatible multi-function displays (Raymarine, Garmin, Navico, Furuno, etc)

  • Provides battery voltage, charge/discharge current, state of charge, and time to depletion based on a sophisticated algorithm

  • Easy installation, plug n play connectivity, and self-powering from the NMEA 2000 bus

  • Generates NMEA 2000 alerts from any BMV or SmartShunt Alarms

  • Supports multiple SmartShunts for a larger multi-battery system

VeKonvert Is Compatible with the Following Victron Products:

BMV-700, BMV-702, BMV-700H, BMV-712 Smart, BMV-710H Smart, BMV-712 Smart, SmartShunt 500A/50mV, SmartShunt 1000A/50mV, SmartShunt 2000A/50mV, and All MPPT Charge Controllers

The veKonvert will automatically detect what Victron device it is connected to and adjust the NMEA 2000 data that it outputs accordingly. Below is a list of the PGNs that the veKonvert outputs for the different Victron Devices and different modes that they can operate in:

All MPPTs

      • PGN 127506 DC Detailed Status (DC Type set to MPPT)

      • PGN 127508 Battery Status (MPPT Output Voltage and Current)

      • PGN 130900 Proprietary Solar Controller (All solar panel data)

All SmartShunts and BMVs

  • PGN 127506 DC Detailed Status (DC Type set to Battery, SOC and A/h consumed)

  • PGN 127508 Battery Status (Output Voltage and Current)

NOTE: veKonvert is not compatible with Victron Chargers and Inverters. It should also not be plugged into the VE.Direct interfaces of any Victron Consumers such as Multiplus, Quattro, Cerbo, etc.

Better off saving your money for a quality brand like Acer or Samsung
Size: 24"/FHD/240Hz
If you were looking for a decent gaming monitor with a good refresh rate, you better keep looking. Honestly, I wanted to really like this thing. For $120, it ticked off a lot of great features for me: at least 120Hz refresh rate, 1080p quality, and some nifty reticule marks for FPS gamers like myself. And for a year I had no problems with it until a few days ago. The ability to control input's, power, and toggle the reticule features all lie on one singular button behind the monitor. Here lie's the issue; if that power button starts messing up, there is no way to control or turn on/off the monitor. This is exactly what happened on my unit; the power button/control went out and the monitor was basically useless. I contacted Koorui support via email, and all I got was a vague "Did you confirm the button is really broken" response. Replied back that I did, and the manufacturer has ghosted me. Basically, I HIGHLY advise you just save up a few $80 or $100 dollars and get a decent entry level gaming monitor. By going cheap with this one, you will just end up probably wearing out the power/control button and be left with an expensive paperweight. If you are DIY repair savvy, I am sure that replacing the power/control button probably is not that big of a deal. In which case, go right ahead as it is a decent monitor for the price. But with that said, having this thing break leaves you with basically no options to get it fixed and good luck trying to get a hold of Koorui for support. Sadly, this is a growing trend on buying electronic's here on amazon from smaller brand sellers. *Update* So as of writing this review, I got Koorui to reach out to me. They would agree to replace the monitor for free, but I would have to front the shipping costs. They have their operations out in California, so if you live on the east coast then expect to pay around $40-50 for shipping for the monitor all the way out there (nearly half the monitor's value). I told Koorui that this just did not make any financial sense and they offered to refund me 50% of the monitor's value. However, they have yet to specify how they will send the refund, so I am unsure of whether I will see my partial refund when this is all said and done. So know that if you do proceed to get this monitor and need to return it past the 30 day return window covered by Amazon. TLDR: just save up an extra $50-100 for a big brand gaming monitor and save yourself the headache of dealing with all of this.

I feel fully enveloped in the work
Size: 34"/WQHD/1000R/HDR400
Changed my work at home experience. I feel fully enveloped in the work. I don't use it for gaming so can't comment on that. But for laptop heavy work days, this is a great experience.

Great color. Great Price. Easy to install
Display Size: 24 Inches, Size: SE2426H, Style: AMD Freesync
I just needed a replacement monitor for daily desk use and wasn't interested in gaming, etc. so this fit my needs beautifully. The color is great and the picture is crisp. It was a breeze to install. Great, everyday monitor and super size for home office desks where you won't need a theatre sized monitor.
