For high-powered applications, EXEDY offers twin and triple Multi-Plate clutches. These are designed for high power street as well as drag, road and rally racing. The twin plate clutches are rated for approximately 500 ft/lbs of torque and the triple plates are rated for approximately 800 ft/lbs of torque, both figures at the flywheel. Twins come with both spring damper discs or solid discs depending on application, whereas triples are all solid discs and not recommended for street use. All EXEDY Hyper Multi-Plate clutches come with a lightweight, chromoly steel flywheel and the famous purple anodized forged aluminum clutch cover. Depending on the application, we have both strap drive and lug drive models. All have T5001 cerametallic friction materials for extreme heat resistance. Surprisingly, even with it?s power capability, multi-plate clutches exhibit light pedal pressure thanks to a half-engaged ''zone'' provided by the patented clutch ''cushion'' function. SD Type: This model has been developed for high powered street cars and race cars with up to approximately 600TQ at FW. They feature ventilated, thick intermediate plates for improved life and spring damper discs to protect your transmission and driveline. SR Type: These clutch covers are designed to achieve a clamping load that is approx. 40% higher than the stock allowing a higher torque transmitting capacity. Ductile material is used for all pressure plates and, high burst strength can be achieved in all temperature ranges. HR Type: This model has three plates and is developed specifically for high power applications such as over 800 ft/lbs of torque at the flywheel for drag racing. It handles high torque loads and shifts smooth, and because of the lightweight clutch discs, you can reduce your shift times. Better than the basic power strip

I needed to get a basic five or six outlet power strip and instead ended up with this
. Since the power strip that I was going to get was for basic protection, and would be plugged into a surge suppressor anyway, I really wasn't concerned about how much protection it offered. Just having the extra outlets for additional small-to-medium electrical devices was important.
While looking and comparing this with basic power strips, I decided to check the manufacturer's site to see what specs they offered, since the ones here seemed to be a bit inadequate. Here's what I found:

The pros on this unit include the price, the basic surge protection, a short but sturdy power cord, and good basic construction. It has a power/reset switch that's recessed at the top of the unit near the power cord to prevent accidental shutting down. On the negative side, like so many of these units, the outlets are too close together to put more than a couple transformer-type devices like cell phone chargers and such.
Just a couple of comments on the specifications listed above to those who may be interested: if you're going to plug high-end expensive electronics into one of these, don't do it. This is an adequate but very basic unit, and you want to consider getting a better grade surge suppressor for large screen televisions, good computer systems and such. No surge protector is 100% effective, but sure that the product is listed as a transient voltage surge suppressor, and that it meets the criteria for UL 1449, the absolute minimum performance standard for surge suppressors. I'm no electrical engineer or electronics technician, but if you're going to protect an expensive jogging machine, your new 52-inch television or Apple iMac 27-inch desktop system, you need better than an under $10 surge suppressor or power strip.
A friend who I will refer to as the 'cranky electronic tech' told me to look it up on the 'Net, but make sure that whatever I got for protection of "really good stuff" needed to be minimally have a UL1449 3rd Edition certification and be rated at 1400 joules of surge protection or higher, and the rest would fall into place. The
that I've used for years with my large electronics is rated at 3330 Joules, and meets those specs.
If you plan to use a basic surge suppressor to charge cell phones and the like with their transformer plugs, units with right-angle outlets are a better, though more costly choice. My personal choice for mid-range protection combined with outstanding quality is the
, a 5-star product that I own and have reviewed here. I run two notebook computers with this, along with a few chargers. There are others if you look.
If all that you're looking for is a basic surge protector with a reasonable amount of surge suppression, then this one from Belkin is a decent choice, and certainly better than the basic power strip. I actually came back recently and bought a second one this year. But if your needs call for more, then the above listed alternates may be worth a look.

It just works, and that is all that matters

It's a Belkin product. Do you really need to know anything more? My roommate bought a really crappy multi-outlet, it worked for the low wattage stuff, but for the higher wattage stuff the internal breaker kept popping. I bought this one, and it hasn't failed me yet.

i cant comment on its performance as a surge protector but as a power strip its awesome.
its redic cheap

super thin, my other strip is twice as thick
the on off switch is hidden which is great to not accidentally hit it, and with having kids around
the cord length is perfect for my needs. its plug in behind a chair and a half and comes around the side and has plenty of play to move and plug and unplug
the only con i can say about it which is not really a con because it wasnt designed for it. your only going to fit 1 big adapter on the end, or your going to have to give up plug ins to have more than that. but that clearly isnt the design of this strip. its about being thin, compact, hidden, and cheap.
you want one that can do everything, your going to have to spend more

Everything You Expect, Nothing You Don't

The power strip got here quickly and works as advertised. I needed another strip because I had an extension cord setup for game systems that was NOT toddler-safe. Now I've got the plugs all tucked away at the back of the cabinet and away from little hands with no protruding prongs.
Also, power strips are a good way to save on your electric bill. Things like game systems that really don't need power when you're not using them will draw what's sometimes called "vampire load." It can really add up on your electric bill if you have a lot of things plugged in that aren't in constant use. If you run them through a strip and switch the strip off when you're not using them, you can save a few bucks on electricity. If you're a dad like me, a lower electric bill makes you wanna hang it up on the fridge and tell everyone what a good job you did and how proud they should be of you. There are WAY more fun things to do with a few spare dollars than spend them on running power to appliances you're not even using.
